Conventionally, when manufacturing ERW pipes and flexible pipes, etc., a thin plate coil with a diameter (2050 to 1600 mm) x width (2400 to 1800 mm) is generally slit to create a thin plate coil with a small width (with a width of 20 mm or less for small items). This is transported by a chain conveyor or the like and sequentially supplied to an electric resistance welded pipe manufacturing machine and a flexible pipe manufacturing machine. In this case, since the narrow thin plate coil is extremely unstable if placed upright, it is usually transferred onto the conveyor horizontally.

By screwing into the screw holes provided in 0a and 11a, and rotating the screw 14, the side brackets 10,
11 is adapted to move along a screw 13. Further, since the screws 14 have left and right reverse threads, the screws 14 move toward or away from each other as the screws 14 rotate. Further, a gear 15 is fixed to the screw 14 at the center.

する。 The conveyance device running on the rail 2 first has a gear 15 attached to the screw 14 and a drive gear 16.
It stops at the position where the coils are engaged (coil loading position). At that time, a pair of side brackets 10, 11
is in the open position. A pair of saddles 4 and 5 have several turns of thin plate coils hooked to rods (not shown).
The rod is placed on the side bracket 10,
It is pulled out laterally through the slit 13 of No. 11.
Alternatively, several turns of the thin plate coil may be held together and placed on the saddles 4 and 5. Next, by rotating the drive gear 16, the screw 14 to which the gear 15 is fixed rotates, and the pair of side brackets 10 and 11 approach each other. When the side brackets 10, 11 hold the thin plate coils, the drive gear 16 stops and the conveyor chain 3 resumes running.

Since the driving gear rotates in the opposite direction to the gear 16, the pair of side brackets 10 and 11 are separated from each other, and the thin plate coil inside can be taken out.
The thin plate coil can be removed by means of a rod or by suitable gripping means.

With the above configuration, the conveying device of the present invention can efficiently convey a large number of thin articles. In particular, since thin articles are held by rotating the screw, holding can be ensured by appropriately adjusting the rotation of the screw depending on the overall thickness of the article.
