Abstract

PURPOSE:To make construction work easy and make possible installation in a narrow area available in a wall, by giving dimensionally a long form to a ventilation apparatus and mounting a built-in fire damper each on outdoor side of the exhaust air passage for discharging air to the outside and the inlet air passage for intaking air into the inside. CONSTITUTION:Indoor air drawn through a plurality of suction ports 14 by an exhaust fan 3 is passed successibly through an exhaust chamber 12, a heat exchanger element 2, a fire-proof damper 10 to an exhaust ports 5 to be discharged to the outside therefrom. Outdoor air drawn through an intake port 7 by an intake fan 6 passes successibly through a fire-proof damper 11, the heat exchanger element 2 to a plurality of outlet ports 16 of an inlet chamber 13, flowing out therefrom into the room. The outdoor air, therefore, is heat- exchanged with the indoor air while passing through the heat exchanger element 2 countercurrently with the indoor air; as a result, air is supplied from the outlet ports 15 into the room under such condition that the temperature and humidity thereof is close to those of the air to be exhausted from the inside.

As explained above, according to the present invention, the ventilation device is vertically elongated, and fire dampers are built in on the outdoor sides of the exhaust passage that discharges air from the room to the outdoors and the air supply passage that sucks the air into the room from the outdoors. This eliminates the need for construction work such as installing a fire damper on a building wall as in the past, making the construction work easy and inexpensive. In addition, it can be embedded or incorporated into a building wall, and since it is vertically long, it can be installed in a narrow wall.
