BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION In recent years, display panels using liquid crystals and KL have made remarkable progress, and in particular, full-color displays using liquid crystals have been developed. However, there are limitations to the structure and size of liquid crystal panels as well.

Even now, at most (20 x 30 m) can only be obtained. On the other hand, the demand for larger size is severe, and in order to meet this demand, we are trying to increase the size by combining (20 x 30 cm) liquid crystal panels. Currently, one panel is attached to a box containing a drive circuit, and this is used as a unit to form a large screen, for example, 8x8 panels. However, since this method does not narrow the seams between panels, a special method is currently used for seam correction.

Means for Solving the Problem In order to solve this problem, the present invention forms a groove on the side surface of the substrate including the electrode terminal of the substrate, and inserts a connecting body whose surface is conductive into the groove. This is a connection between boards.

Due to this groove formation, electrical connection is made through the connection body, so
A reliable and low-resistance connection can be realized, and the distance between the boards can be the minimum determined by the groove and the connecting body.

In the figure, s1~1F is a liquid crystal panel, 2 is an electrode terminal, 3 is a groove formed on the side of the panel, 4 is a cylinder whose surface is a conductive connector, 6 is a seam, 6 is a reinforcing plate, 8
is a line indicating the boundary of the panel, and 9 is a conductive adhesive. As can be seen from FIG. 1, grooves 3 are formed on the sides of the liquid crystal panel. This groove 3 can be easily formed using a rotating grindstone. The diameter of the cylinder 4 should be twice the depth of the groove 3, that is, when the cylinder 4 is inserted into the groove 3, about the radius thereof should protrude. The size of the electrode terminal 2 is preferably larger than the groove 3. A cylinder 4 is inserted between the butted liquid crystal panels, and the cylinder 4 and the electrode terminal 2 are connected and fixed with a conductive adhesive 9. Solder may be used instead of the conductive adhesive 9.

このようにして接続された状態を第2図ム、Bに示す。The thus connected state is shown in FIGS.

According to the present invention, the seam 6 can be made as small as the cylinder 4 used. The width of the groove 3 can be reduced to about 60 μm by machining with a rotary grindstone. Further, it is preferable to use a reinforcing plate 6 such as a glass plate to increase the strength of the combined panel.
