Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a base material for a sheet having a lustrous surface with a nondirectional metallic tone and giving very fine reflected light by using matted Al foil contg. specified amounts of Fe and Si in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:This base material for a sheet with a metallic tone is made of matted Al foil contg. 0.5-1.0wt.% Fe and <=0.2wt.% Si in 10-16 ratio of Fe/Si, and streaks on the base material in the rolling direction are not conspicuous at any angle of seeing. The base material is obtd. by rolling two sheets of Al foil having said composition put one on top of the other to a prescribed thickness. The matted rear sides have no streaks, the grains are hyperfine, and a fine metallic tone is shown at any angle seeing.

Conventionally, as substrates for such metallic sheets, 1) metal vapor-deposited film or paper, 2) glossy aluminum, 2) matte aluminum, 2) metal paste coated paper or kneaded film, etc. have been used.

However, such conventional base materials have the following problems: (1) In the case of (1) and (2) above, the reflective surface looks dark depending on the viewing angle because the specular reflection wheel is high; (ir) In the case of (1) above, the reflective surface appears dark Although the ratio is high, the stripes in the rolling direction give rise to directional properties in the reflection properties, so the reflective surface looks dark depending on the viewing angle, similar to (+). In addition to the drawbacks of low decorative and visual effects, they were still not fully satisfactory.

Therefore, the inventors of the present invention have solved these conventional drawbacks, and provided a sheet that provides a non-directional metallic-like glossy surface with no noticeable streaks in the rolling direction when viewed from any angle, and exhibits extremely beautiful reflected light. As a result of various studies, it was discovered that extremely excellent results could be obtained by using matte aluminum foil containing specific amounts of iron and silicon, and the present invention was completed.

In this case, the iron content is required to be 0.5 to 1.0% by weight, the silicon content is required to be 0.2% by weight or less, and
The content ratio of both, that is, the weight ratio of iron/silicon is 10~
It is necessary to fall within the range of 16. If the content of both is outside these conditions, the reflective surface will appear dark depending on the viewing angle, and a bright metallic glossy surface will not be obtained as a whole, making it impossible to achieve the objective.

In addition, aluminum foil is generally produced by rolling, but when rolling the foil to a thickness of 15 μm or less, it is very difficult to roll one foil, so two foils are rolled (polymerization rolling). In this case, the aluminum foil has a glossy surface and a matte back surface, that is,
The surface in contact with the rolling rolls becomes a mirror surface, but the surfaces where the aluminum is rolled in contact with each other become a matte surface. At that time, the matte surface normally obtained by this rolling has very thin streaks (brane streaks) parallel to the rolling direction due to the influence of the rolling texture, and no change in appearance is observed even after annealing. Therefore, it is not suitable as a metallic sheet.

However, even when the base material of the present invention is manufactured by the polymerization rolling method, there is no adverse effect and an excellent matte surface with fine crystal grains and no streaks and non-directionality can be obtained.
No special equipment is required for its manufacture.
