Conventionally, various means have been used to maintain liquid tightness at both ends of the junction box of the cable connection section. In one prior art, this sealing means was formed by wrapping a sealing tape onto the cable. but,
In this conventional technique, the sealing tape is wound up to a large diameter, which is time-consuming, and it is also difficult to apply sufficient pressure between the junction box and the cable portion, making it impossible to maintain liquid tightness. In other conventional techniques, the sealing means consists of a cylindrical sealing material divided into two parts, but the disadvantage of this is that it is troublesome to adjust the diameter because the hole in the sealing material needs to be adjusted to match the diameter of the cable. It is.

The multilayer sealant 16 is made of rubber or plastic, and in the illustrated embodiment, as shown in FIG.
It consists of three layers of sealing material 16A, 16B, and 16C. These sealing materials 16A, 16B, 16
As shown in FIG. 1, the sealing materials 16C are overlapped with each other and fitted into each half of the case 14, and the innermost sealing material 16C is inserted into the holes 18a and 18a of the sealing plates 18 and 18'.
It has an axial groove 20 approximately matching the diameter of 18'a. This groove is located in the sealing material 16C in the other half.
A hole through which the cable passes is formed together with the groove. Positioning means 22 is formed between adjacent sealing materials 16A and 16B, and between 16B and 16C, and this positioning means includes projections 24 formed on the inner surface of each sealing material, as shown in FIGS. and a recess 26 formed on the outer surface of the sealing material inside the recess 26 into which the protrusion 24 is inserted. As shown in Figure 4,
Each of the sealing materials 16A, 16B, and 16C preferably has an adhesive layer 28 on its outer surface, and these adhesive layers are covered with a release paper 30 (not shown) (see FIG. 5).

Next, referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, we will describe how this seal block is used. One, two, or all sealing materials are used depending on the diameter of the cable 32 to be connected. The release paper 30 is peeled off and overlapped to fit within each half 12 of the case 14. In addition, the seal plates 18 and 18' are provided with holes 18a and 18'a, either as they are or cut with a file etc., in accordance with the cable diameter and passed through the cable 32 in advance.
It engages into the inner circumferential grooves 12a and 12b of No.2. If the diameter of the cable 32 does not match the diameter of the sealing material used, the diameter is adjusted by wrapping a sealing tape 34 over the cable 32 as shown in FIG. Finally, a tightening tape (not shown) is wrapped around the outer circumferential groove 12c of the case 14 and pressurized. After the seal block 10 is attached to the cable 32 under pressure in this manner, the connection box 36 covering the cable connection portion 32a is attached to the seal block 10 as shown in FIG.
The cable connection portion 38 is formed by connecting the cable connection portion 38 to the cable connection portion 38 by appropriate means.

FIG. 6 shows another embodiment of the present invention, in which every other seal member 16A, 16C is integrally molded with a thin end wall 40 at one end edge in the axial direction; Similarly, the sealing materials 16B and 16D are integrally molded with a thin end wall 40'. In this embodiment, if the sealing material 16D is not needed to match the cable diameter, for example, it is torn off from the thin end wall 40' and another sealing material is superimposed thereon. In this embodiment, the end faces are relatively smoothly aligned compared to the previous embodiment, so that the liquid tightness is further improved.

According to the present invention, as described above, the seal block is made up of a plurality of sealing materials that are multi-layered and polymerized within the case disposed inside both ends of the junction box. Since it can be easily adjusted to the cable diameter, on-site work is significantly simplified and work efficiency is improved, and since the sealing material is pressurized by tightening the case, it is possible to maintain sufficient liquid tightness to the cable. This makes it possible to reliably prevent liquid from entering between both ends of the connection box and the cable.
