Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily produce the titled filter by selectively transferring a dyestuff or a pigment to a prescribed position of the transparent substrate from a sheet coated with the substance predispersed the dyestuff or the pigment. CONSTITUTION:A porous layer 2 is formed on the transparent substrate 1 to permeate the pigment to the substrate in an after step. The refractive index of the layer 2 is preferable to be almost the same to that of a wax dispersed the pigment, because of scattering the light due to a large difference of the refractive index, when the light passes the titled filter. The pigment is transferred to the prescribed position on the transparent substrate 1 by contacting the sheet 3 dispersed the pigment with the transparent substrate 1 and by heating the substrate with a thermal head 4 from the upperward, thereby forming the colored layer 5 by permeating the pigment into the porous layer 2. by repeating the treatment mentioned above, using the sheet 3 contg. the different sorts of the dyestuffs, the three colored filter is obtd.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Field of Industrial Application The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an optical filter in which multicolored parts are arranged in a fine mosaic or stripe pattern, and is attached to the front of a color video camera for color separation. The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a color filter for displaying a color image, or a color filter used in combination with a transmissive liquid crystal panel for color display.

First, as shown in FIG. 2A, a photosensitive gelatin film 22 is coated on the entire surface of a transparent substrate 21. Next, as shown in FIG. 2B, the gelatin film 22 is exposed to light using a mask 23, but only the light transmitting portions 24 of the mask 23 are exposed. After that, if the film is developed with hot water, only the areas of the islands 25 will remain. In this state, if the area of the island 25 is dyed with a dissolved red dye, the area of the island 25 will be dyed red. Next, as shown in the second diagram, a resist dyeing layer 26 is formed on the entire surface, and again as shown in Figure 2 A to D.
By repeating the above steps, the color filter shown in FIG. 2E can be obtained.

2 Problems to be Solved by the Invention This conventional method requires an expensive mask alignment device and an expensive mask, and requires a filter (for example, a 30 crn square substrate) used for a liquid crystal panel with a pitch of about 100 μm.
In this case, there is a cost problem.

A porous layer 2 is formed on a transparent substrate 1 as shown in FIG. 1A. The porous layer 2 is necessary for impregnating the pigment in a later step, and its refractive index is preferably approximately equal to the refractive index of the wax in which the pigment is dispersed. This is because when light passes through, if the refractive index differs too much, the light will be scattered. Next, as shown in FIG. 1B, the sheet 3 in which the pigment is dispersed is brought into contact with the transparent substrate 1 and heated from above by the thermal head 4 to transfer the pigment to a predetermined location on the transparent substrate 1. The pigment penetrates into the porous layer 2 to form a colored layer 5. By repeating the process shown in FIG. 1B using sheets 3 containing different types of pigments, the first
