On the other hand, for large-sized prints other than those automatically printed, such as quarter-cuts larger than the camera size, the operator uses an enlarger to expose the photographic paper and then develops the exposed photographic paper by hand. This is the actual situation.

If printing of this size is automated using the same method as conventional automatic printing of small sizes,
A large amount of developer is required, and when the photographic paper to be developed is roll paper, the beginning of the roll paper is wasted as a leader section in order to guide the roll paper through the developer tank. It became. Moreover, in order to drive this large-sized roll paper, there was a fear that the driving force of the device would be extremely large.

The exposure and imaging section has a film holder 4 in which an original film for exposure is placed, and an imaging lens 5 for forming an original optical image on the film. Furthermore, a mirror 7 supported by a movable support 6 and a screen 8 are provided as an observation mechanism for facilitating focus adjustment during image formation. In this way, the light emitted from the light source projects an image onto the screen 8 located at the same distance as the image formation position, making it possible to adjust the focus. A hood 9 is provided around the screen to facilitate observation of the projected image on the screen 8.

After the focus adjustment is completed, the mirror 7 is pivoted so as to be raised from the observation position A up to that point to a vertical position B that does not interfere with exposure. At this position, an external light shielding hood is provided between the mirror 7 and the screen 8 so that the external light from the screen 8 does not affect the exposure.

On the other hand, a photosensitive material P such as photographic paper on which an original light image is formed by exposure is stored in a photosensitive material cassette 12, and a paper feed roller 13 is arranged to take out the photosensitive material from inside the cassette 12, and further feed it out. The photosensitive material P stationary on the image forming plate 14 is pressed by a pressure bonding plate 16 to prevent curling and to eliminate deterioration in accuracy of the focusing surface due to lifting of the photosensitive material. This crimp plate is designed to crimp only the periphery of the transparent plate or photosensitive material so as not to interfere with image formation, but it is designed to crimp only the leading edge, trailing edge, or both ends. Of course, it is also a good thing.

The photosensitive material crimped by the crimping plate 16 is exposed to an original light image for a required period of time. After exposure, the photosensitive material is developed. If the pressure bonding plate 16 is a transparent plate, the developing solution is applied to the upper right side of the photosensitive material held at the exposure position in the figure, and is kept away from the photoreceptor surface so as not to impede contact between the photosensitive material surface and the developer. A processing liquid injection mechanism for supplying the processing liquid is arranged. The processing solution injection mechanism has a color developer solution injection port 17, a bleach-fix solution injection port 18, a stabilizer solution injection port 19, and a washing water injection port 20. Therefore, development is first started on the exposed surface of the photosensitive material using a developer injected from the color developer inlet. The developer flows down on the photosensitive material provided at an angle and comes into contact with the entire surface of the photosensitive material. The developing solution is collected from the surface of the photosensitive material through a collection tray 21 provided below the photosensitive material.

On the other hand, below this collection pan 21, there are collection tanks for each processing solution, namely a color developer collection tank 22, a bleach-fix solution collection tank 23, and a stabilizer collection tank 24.
is movably arranged, and during development, the color developer recovery tank 22 is positioned below the drain port 21 to recover the used developer.

After completion of development for a desired time, washing water is introduced into the surface of the photosensitive material from the washing water inlet 20 to wash away the processed developer. This water is also allowed to flow down from the drain port 21 of the collecting tray 21, but at this time the collection tank is moved so that it falls onto the lower receiving tray 25. The subsequent supply of bleach-fix solution is done in the same manner and is collected in the same collection tank. The subsequent stabilization treatment is performed in the same manner, thereby completing the development on the photosensitive material.

The liquid collected in each collection tank is transferred to each feed pipe 22,
Since the treatment liquid is circulated to each injection port through 23 and 24 and can be used repeatedly, the processing liquid is less consumed and the complexity of replenishment is also reduced.

After the development is completed, the photosensitive material P is moved from the exposure and development position to the dryer 27 by the conveyor belt 15. The dryer 27 includes a heater H and a fan F. After drying, the photosensitive material P is discharged onto the paper discharge tray 28. Although water adheres to the conveyor belt 26 after the development process, since the circulating belt passes through the dryer twice, it is completely dried and does not cause any problems in the next exposure and development process.

With the above-described apparatus, automatic color development, especially large size development processing, can be carried out extremely easily. Moreover, since exposure and development can be performed at the same location, and the developer treatment for each color and each step can be performed at the same location, the apparatus configuration can be extremely compact.
