The state seen through the second substrate 2 is shown. That is, the electrode of the second substrate 2 is electrically connected to the common electrode 3 via the conductive adhesive 4. Moreover, the first substrate 1 and the second substrate 1
The substrates 2 are bonded together with a sealing adhesive 5. 1st
In addition to the common electrode 3, a large number of individual electrodes 6 are formed on the substrate 1. Of course, FIG. 2 shows a case where they are ideally bonded, and this is not the case in general.

In particular, if we consider that the electrode arrangement pitch will become narrower as liquid crystal panel technology advances in the future, there will be an increasing risk that the conductive adhesive 4 will cause a short circuit between the common electrode 3 and the adjacent electrode 6.

The common electrode 3 is isolated from the other electrodes 6 by changing the application pattern, thereby preventing the conductive adhesive 4 from flowing to the electrodes 6. The sealing adhesive applied in a thin layer to isolate the common electrode from the other electrodes prevents the conductive adhesive from spreading when bonding the first and second substrates together. death,
Short circuits between the common electrode and other electrodes are thus prevented.

First, the conductive adhesive 4 is pressed onto the soft substrates 1 and 2 and begins to spread, followed by the sealing adhesive 5. At this time, since the sealing adhesive 5 is patterned to surround the conductive adhesive 4 as described above, it prevents the conductive adhesive 4 from spreading and flowing. That is, conductive adhesive 4
Naturally, the common electrode 3 which is electrically connected to the common electrode 3 is also prevented from coming into contact with the electrode 6 by the sealing adhesive 5.

It is necessary to prevent the sealing adhesive 5 from spreading to picture element parts (not shown), and therefore it may be better to have a narrower pattern width.

In the manufacture of liquid crystal panels that make electrical connections, it is possible to completely prevent short circuits between the common electrode and adjacent electrodes due to the spread of the conductive adhesive, making it easier to manufacture liquid crystal panels and improving yields. It has advantages that can be easily improved.
