Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve release characteristic and durability by using rollers each having >=2 layers of elastic layers on a mandrel and a surface layer consisting of a fluororesin thereon in which the elastic material layers nearer the mandrel have the smaller rubber hardness. CONSTITUTION:The heating roller 1 consists of the constitution in which the low-hardness elastic layer 1b is provided on the mandrel 1a holding internally a halogen heater and the high-hardness layer 1c is provided thereon and further the surface layer 1d consisting of the fluororesin such as polytetrafluoroethylene is provided thereon. The heating roller 2 consists also of the constitution in which the low-hardness elastic layer 2b is provided on the mandrel 2a and the high-hardness elastic layer 2c thereon and further the surface layer 2d consisting of the fluororesin such as polytetrafluoroethylene is provided thereon. The durability of he rollers is improved and the generation of cracking and offsetting is eliminated by using the rollers each having the surface layer consisting of the fluororesin and the elastic material layers having he smaller rubber hardness nearer the mandrel under said layer. The stable and satisfactory fixing is thus made possible.

ムから成る表面層とを設けたもの(特開昭58−577

弾性を示して表面層と弾性層の弾性率の差が少ないため
、表面層にひソ割れが生ずることはないが、表面層にお
ける四弗化エチレン樹脂の層が非常に薄く、そのために
耐久性が劣υ、オフセットが発生し易いと言う問題があ
る。

レンのような弗素樹脂から成る表面層2dを設けた構成
から成る。なお、加熱ローラ1や加圧ローラ2の弾性層
にはシリコンゴムが好ましく用いられ、そして高硬度弾
性層にはゴム硬度70°〜90°の範囲のものが、また
低硬度弾性層にはゴム硬度25°〜40°の範囲のもの
が好ましく用いられる。

硬度弾性層ICの層厚を100μ、低硬度弾性N1bの
層厚を200μ、加圧ローラ2′の加熱ローラ1と同じ
シリコンゴムから成る高硬度弾性層2Cの層厚を1 t
m 、低硬度弾性層2bの層厚を4慎として、この定着
装置により記録材Pのトナー像の定着を行ったところ、
記録材Pが薄い紙の場合は勿論のこと厚紙の場合も、加
熱ローラlや加圧ローラ2が耐久性に優れてひび割れや
オフセットの生ずることが無く、安定して良好な定着が
なされた。また、加圧ローラを従来用いられている加圧
ローラに変えた場合も、上述の加熱ローラ1は変らない
耐久性を示した。

て良好な定着を行うことができると1う優れた効果を奏
