FIG. 1 is an exploded external perspective view showing an example of a conventional air conditioner, in which a blower and a heat exchanger are housed in a frame, and an inlet and an outlet are formed in the front panel. Then, indoor air is sucked in from the suction port by the blower, and after being heated or cooled by the heat exchanger,
The air is configured to be blown out from the air outlet.
In the case of such an air conditioner, the front panel is usually configured so that it can be easily attached and detached for piping work and internal maintenance inspection.

That is, conventionally, as shown in Fig. 1, the top plate and front panel of the cabinet were formed by cutting and bending a single steel plate, and the edges of the top plate and front panel were cut and bent. In order to attach a side plate made of plastic or the like, the flange is usually bent inward at 90 degrees to form a flange, and a mounting hole is usually provided on the flange surface.

In the case of the above structure, there are the following problems. That is, (1) since the side plate forms a part of the cabinet, rigidity is required, and reinforcing ribs are required for this purpose, and the mold thereof is complicated and expensive, resulting in a large mold depreciation burden.

(2) Reinforcing ribs to increase rigidity tend to cause sink marks on the surface of the side panels, which gives an untidy appearance and reduces product value.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIG. This invention integrally forms a top plate part, a front panel part, and a planar L-shaped side plate part at a position slightly behind the front panel by cutting and bending a single steel plate. Mounting holes are provided in parallel in the vertical direction, and on the inside of a plastic mounting plate having flanges on the top and front surfaces, bosses are provided corresponding to the mounting holes and having a diameter slightly smaller than the hole diameter of the mounting holes, By fitting the boss into the mounting hole, the side plate portion and the inner surface of the mounting plate are brought into contact with each other. The L-shaped side plate part can be bent from the rear by the thickness of the flange with respect to the front plate, and the upper end part can be formed to be lower than the top plate part by the thickness of the flange, so that a surface that is uniform in appearance can be obtained.

Although not shown in the drawings, the side plate and the mounting plate can be fixed by tightly covering the bosses protruding inward from the side plate with a rubber cap.

Since the present invention has the above-described structure, the side plates and the side plate portions uniformly abut, so the side plates do not require rigidity, there is no need for reinforcing ribs as in the past, and the mold can be made inexpensive.

In addition, since there is no need for reinforcing ribs, there are no sink marks on the surface of the side panels, eliminating the rough appearance and improving the product value.

In the case of the present invention, a mold is required to form the side plate portion, but since this is a simple bending mold compared to the complicated mold for the conventional side plate, it can be made at a lower cost and does not become a factor in increasing costs.

As can be easily understood from the above explanation, in the present invention, a top plate, a front panel, and a side plate are formed by cutting and bending a single steel plate, and a plastic plate is formed to cover the side plate. Since the side plate is fixed to a side plate made of aluminum or the like, there is no need for reinforcing ribs on the side plate, and the resulting cost reduction benefits and improvement in commercial value are extremely large and of great practical value.
