接触した状態で回転駆動される給紙ローラよりも
搬送方向下流側に、前記最上位紙から離間した上
昇位置と前記最上位紙に接触した下降位置とにわ
たつて昇降自在な摩擦部材を設け、該摩擦部材の
昇降と前記給紙ローラの回転駆動とを、摩擦部材
が下降位置にあるとき給紙ローラが回転を始め、
給紙ローラが回転中に摩擦部材が上昇すべく関連
させることにより、最上位紙の摩擦部材、給紙ロ
ーラ間に位置する部分を給紙ローラの紙送り作用
によつて一時的に上方へ湾曲させるように構成し
た画像形成装置の給紙装置において、一端部が給
紙カセツトの底面部に横方向の枢支軸芯周りで揺
動自在に枢支された乗載板を、前記給紙ローラと
前記摩擦部材の中間位置において前記枢支軸芯と
略平行な腰折れ軸芯周りで折曲げ自在に構成し、
前記腰折れ軸芯よりも搬送方向上流側に位置する
乗載板部分と搬送方向下流側に位置する乗載板部
分とを別々のばねにより各別に上方へ付勢してあ
