化炭素を排出する等、短時間とは言い乍ら不快かつ不安
全な現象を招くものであった。また両者共に、シャッタ
は火皿上面に接触摺動するのみで密閉性は得難く、消炎
後にも灯芯の保有熱によって気化した燃料ガスが該シャ
ッタ部の隙間を経て上昇し、高温の燃焼室壁と接触して
部分酸化することになり、悪臭や一酸化炭素の発生を長
びかせるという欠点があった。
