Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the degree of use of an ink ribbon to be accurately recognized by the user, by a construction wherein a rotary plate is provided which is connected to an ink ribbon feeding roller or the like through a speed reducing mechanism, and indications concerning the useful life of the ink ribbon are provided on the upper surface of the rotary plate. CONSTITUTION:With the feeding rollers 5 rotated, the ink ribbon is fed in the direction of arrow C, while the rotary plate 9 is rotated in the direction of arrow D at a markedly reduced speed. On the upper surface of the plate 9 are indicated numbers 10 of printed characters (in the figure, 40k, 45k..., wherein 40k means that 40,000 characters have been printed). An upper frame 2 is provided with a notched window 11, and a pointer 12 is provided in the vicinity of the window 11, so that the numbers 10 of printed characters on the plate 9 can be directly observed through the window 11.

Therefore, since the ribbon feed is endless, the print density gradually decreases as more printing is done, but it is up to the user to decide when to replace the ink ribbon or supply ink. I was entrusted with it.

In this way, with conventional endless-type ink ribbon cartridges, the limit for the decline in the density of the ink ribbon is determined subjectively by the user, so the limit varies, and it is difficult to read the printed matter into an optical character reader, etc. There is a drawback that errors in reading cine performance and the like occur when printing.

The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and includes an endless ink ribbon cartridge for a printer.
A rotary plate connected to either an ink ribbon feed roller or a pressure roller that is in pressure contact with the ink ribbon feed roller through a deceleration mechanism is rotatably provided in the frame of the ink ribbon cartridge, and the ink ribbon is mounted on the upper surface of the rotary plate. In addition, a cutout window is provided in a part of the outer frame of the ink ribbon cartridge so that the ink ribbon cartridge's density life can be viewed directly. I'm trying to make a decision.

The endless ink ribbon cartridge I has an upper frame 2 and a lower frame 3 in the shape of a cartridge, and contains an endless ink ribbon 4. The ink ribbon 4 is sandwiched between a feed roller 5 and a pressure roller 6 that is pressed by a spring (not shown) or the like and comes into pressure contact with the feed roller 5. The ribbon feeding rotational power from the printer is transmitted from the direction of arrow A by a transmission mechanism (not shown), and the feed roller 5 rotates in the direction of arrow B. As the feed roller 50 rotates, the ink ribbon 4 is fed in the direction of arrow C. 50 revolutions of the feed flow is normally - the amount of feed for printing characters is fixed, so
The number of rotations of the feed roller 50 is proportional to the number of printed characters. A feed gear 7 is fixed to the feed row 25 and meshes with a thin idle gear 8 rotatably attached to the upper frame 2. Furthermore, one idle gear 8 meshes with a gear 9a formed on the periphery of a thin rotating plate 9 rotatably attached to the upper frame 2. As a result, when the feed roller 5 rotates, the rotary plate 9 rotates in the direction of the arrow in a significantly decelerated state. On the top of the rotary plate 9, the number of characters to be printed is 10, and here it is written as 40, 45, etc. IC, 40k means that 40,000 characters have been printed. .

A cutout window 11 is provided in the upper frame 2, and a pointer 12 is provided near the cutout window 11. From this cutout window 11, the number of characters 10 printed on the rotary plate 9 can be seen directly. Therefore, the number of printed characters that almost coincides with the pointer 12 of the cutout window 11 is 10.
The numeric content represents the number of characters printed.

As described above, the present invention has the effect of allowing the user to accurately recognize the degree of use of the ink ribbon by allowing the number of printed characters to be viewed directly. In addition, as a result, a print density guideline that is also effective for specifying print density in an optical reader or the like can be obtained.
