Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit recording of high resolution, high density, and high contrast by laminating the conductive magnetic materials of a recording head and a sheet with interposition of an insulator layer in the direction of right angle to the relative moving direction with a sheet. CONSTITUTION:Conductive magnetic materials are laminated at an equal interval by using an insulator adhesive and joined with the upside of an insulator base plate 23. The tip 29 of a printing head is slantly polished in such a way as to make it a necessary width. The cross sectional shape of the conductive magnetic materials on the tips 29 of the printing head so formed becomes rectangular, whereby increasing magnetic forces at the tip of the printing head because the cross sectional area of the conductive magnetic materials near the magnet can be increased, and also increasing the attraction force of magnetic toners. Since the cross sectional shape of the conductive magnetic material is not trapezoidal, records capable of recording of high resolution and high contrast can be obtained.

Conventionally, as a recording device for this oak, one having a configuration as shown in Fig. 4 is known (Special Publication No. 55-30228, t\
f Publication No. 57-38899, etc.). A sheet 1 capable of storing static charges is constructed by forming an insulating layer 3 on a conductive sheet 2, and a gold recording head 4 on the sheet 1 moves relatively. As shown in FIG. 5, the recording head 4 includes a plurality of acicular conductive magnetic bodies 6f arranged in an array on a non-magnetic insulating substrate 5.
Further, a magnet 7 is arranged opposite to the conductive magnetic body 6.

At the time of recording, the insulating layer 3 of the sheet 1 is placed on the band 1 in advance, and the conductive magnetic toner 8 is uniformly attracted thereon by electrostatic force. When the sheet 1 is passed under the recording head 4 in this state, the magnetic toner 8 on the sheet 1 is attracted by the conductive magnetic body 6 of the recording head 4 by magnetic force, forming an electric circuit. When a DC pulsed pressure is applied between the conductive sheet 2 and the conductive magnetic body 6 from the pulsed upper pressure source 9, a current flows through the conductive magnetic body 6. flowing through the conductive magnetic toner 8;
A part of the insulator layer 3 is discharged. In the area discharged by this, the toner 8 that has adhered to the sheet 1 with a static force loses its adsorption force, and is detached by the magnetic force of the magnet 7.

By the way, the conductive magnetic body 6 in the recording head 4 has a thickness of about 50 μm so as to be able to attract a predetermined amount of toner, and is formed to have a width of about 50 μm to ensure recording resolution. Specifically, after a sheet-like conductive magnetic layer is bonded onto the non-magnetic insulating substrate 5, the conductive magnetic layer 6 is etched into needles with a width of about 50 μm at a density of, for example, 8 layers/mI. was forming.

However, when the conductive magnetic material 6 is formed by etching, the cross-sectional shape becomes trapezoidal as shown in FIG. 3 due to side etching, so that sufficient resolution cannot be obtained. On the other hand, if the conductive magnetic layer is made to have a full thickness groove, the degree of trapezoidal shape will be alleviated, but the cross-sectional area will decrease and the magnetic force necessary to attract the conductive magnetic toner will not be able to be obtained sufficiently. Once recorded, the problem of decreased contrast was encountered.

Since it is possible to increase the cross-sectional area of the conductive magnetic material in the vicinity of the magnet, it is possible to increase the magnetic force at the tip of the print head, thereby increasing the magnetism and toner attraction force.
