この考案は排気抵抗が少くてエンジン出力の低
下を少くすると共に消音効果の向上を計つた内燃

内燃機関のマフラは細い絞りから広い消音室に
排気ガスを出して膨張させ、これをくり返して消
音している。その場合、絞りを強くすると消音は
よくなるが、それだけ排気ガスの背圧が高くなる
ので、エンジン出力を低下させる。逆に絞りを弱
くすれば、背圧は低くなるが、消音が十分できな
い、このように消音とエンジン出力の低下とは相

て連結してあつて、バツフルパイプ4の連結端面
が開放してある。又、バツフルパイプ4には多数
の小孔6を穿設し、鍔片7を固着する。そして鍔
片7間に吸音材8が巻付けてある。吸音材8はグ
ラスウール等でよい。そしてバツフルパイプ4を
マフラ筒1に挿入したとき、仕切壁2の孔9と鍔

きも、吸音材8が巻かれている部分では小孔6を
通して、吸音材8に吸音されるので消音効果が大
きい。又、バツフルパイプ4は途中で切断してあ
つて斜板5で連結してあるので、大きい端面が開
口していて排気ガスが通り易く、背圧も低くてエ

を仕切壁で仕切つて複数の消音室にし、仕切壁に
設けた孔に後端からバツフルパイプを挿入するも
のに於て、バツフルパイプの消音室の中間に当る
部分を斜板で連結し、バツフルパイプに鍔片を固
定してバツフルパイプの周りに吸音材を巻付け、
鍔片が仕切壁の孔に嵌り合うようにしたので、消
音室内に吸音材が挿入されて、吸音材によつて消
音効果を高くすることができる。又、バツフルパ
イプは消音室の中間で斜板で連結し、端面が大き
く開口しているので、排気ガスが通り易くて、背
圧が少く、エンジン出力の低下も少い。こうして
エンジン出力の低下を押えながら消音効果を高め
ることができる。更に吸音材はバツフルパイプに
巻付けて消音室内に挿入するので、バツフルパイ
プを抜くことによつて吸音材が詰つた場合、交換
