Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to replace a transfer paper at the time of switching from monochromic recording to color recording or vice versa and obtain an inexpensive transfer device without increasing the number of recording heads, by providing a transfer paper comprising a single black ink layer and a transfer paper comprising ink layers of a plurality of colors other than black. CONSTITUTION:The monochromic recording or color recording is selected prior to printing. Where a transfer paper 4a comprises a black ink layer, when a monochromic printing signal is inputted, a recording head 1a is pressed against a drum 2 through the transfer paper 4a and the recording paper 3, thereby printing.
