Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a joint part in welding of a base pipe and branch pipe by forming an inside bevel edge to at least one of said pipes. CONSTITUTION:The bevel edge of an angle alpha is formed to the inside surface side in the joint part of the base pipe 1 and the bevel edge of an angle gamma is worked to the inside surface side of the branch pipe 2. a weld metal is deposited on the inside surface side over the entire part of a weld zone and forms a penetration bead 3 when the joint part is welded with such groove shape. The joint part is further subjected to build-up weld zone thereon, by which the good joint part is obtd. The bevel edge may be formed only on either of the base pipe 1 or the branch pipe 2.
