Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an image-receiving layer which gives clear and stable images through efficient adsorption of a dye sublimed with less energy, development of color, and fixation of the images, by a construction wherein the second dyeable layer with a porous structure is provided on a base, and the first dyeable layer comprising a dyeable high molecular weight substance is provided thereon. CONSTITUTION:The base 1 is a synthetic paper, an ordinary paper, a coated paper or a transparent film, which has an excellent surface smoothness. The second dyeable layer 2 has a porous structure, and can be provided by applying a solution of a resin such as an AS resin and an ABS resin in a solvent comprising a solvent having a low boiling point of 50-100 deg.C. When a plasticizer is added to the resin, a further effect is obtained in providing the porous structure. An addition of a fine inorganic powder of a metallic oxide such as SiO2, TiO2 and CaCO3 or the like to the resin accelerate the formation of the porous structure and imparts heat resistance to the layer 2. The second dyeable layer 3 is a thin layer with a thickness of 1-3mum comprising a dyeable high molecular weight substance, which is a polyester, a polyamide, an acylic resin, an acetate resin or the like.

Conventional technology Transfer type thermal recording is attracting attention as it provides full-color hardcopy, which is close to color photography.
It is one. In this type of recording, when a sublimable dye is used as a coloring material for the transfer sheet, the surface of the image receptor is dyed to absorb the sublimable dye that sublimates from the transfer sheet in response to the image signal and develop color. There are layers. Especially in the case of sublimable disperse dyes, JP-A-57-107885
, JP-A-58-148794 has proposed an image receptor provided with a dyed layer of saturated polyester resin or saturated polyester resin containing finely powdered silica or the like. On the other hand, the inventors proposed an image receptor provided with a dyeing layer containing a dyeable polymeric substance and a polymeric substance incompatible therewith, as shown in Japanese Patent Application No. 68-230811.

Function: With the above-described structure, the dye sublimated from the transfer sheet by the applied recording energy is adsorbed to the thin first dyed layer and diffused into the second dyed layer having a porous structure. Penetrates deeper into the interior through capillary action. Therefore, color can be efficiently developed with less recording energy, and since the dye penetrates deeply into the interior, an image with high color density, clarity, and stability can be obtained.

Embodiment The basic structure of the image receptor of the present invention is shown in FIG. 1 is a base material, and synthetic paper, plain paper, coated paper, or a transparent film with excellent surface smoothness, such as polypropylene or polyester, is used. 2 is a second dyeing layer having a porous structure as shown by 5. This porous material is human S resin,
Resins such as MuBS resin, polyester, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, polystyrene, polypropylene, polyethylene, acrylic resin, acetate resin, etc.
This can be achieved by dissolving it in a solvent containing a low boiling point solvent at 0°C and applying it. Adding various plasticizers to the above resin is effective in making the resin more porous.
