キヤツプに電極１５ａ，１５ｂ及び外部リード棒
１６ａ，１６ｂを固定してなる発光管１１内に水
銀及び始動ガスと共にアルカリ金属のハロゲン化
物を含む金属ハロゲン化物を封入し、該発光管を
電気的リードを兼ねた支柱２０ａ，２０ｂを介し
外球内に支持してなる放電灯において、 前記発光管の少なくとも一方のエンドキヤツプ
１３のフリツトガラス１４ｂによる封着部１８を
覆うように該エンドキヤツプに固定した電極１５
ｂと同電位のシールド材１９を付設したことを特
