て上記3者の性能、機能等には各者それぞれ一長
一短を有しているが、なかでも圧縮空気式歯石除
去器は操作性、安全性、経済性等の観点より、そ
の有効性が近年特に認められて来ている。しかし
ながら従来の圧縮空気式歯石除去器には次のよう
な問題があつた。圧縮空気式歯石除去器の生命と
なる振動源には圧縮空気の噴流により回転する薄
肉円筒体、又は星形をした回転体等があり、かつ
それら回転体が破損しやすいことであつた。よつ
て薄肉円筒体又は星形の回転体に破損が生じた場
合、振動は当然発生せず歯石、歯垢等の除去が不
可能となり、そのうえ上記破損部の修理交換が甚
だ煩雑であつた。
