Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate easily the factor of a fault by adding a memory means to store an operating procedure. CONSTITUTION:An output signal 2 given from an operating input device 1 is sent to a CPU5 via an interface I3 and also to a RAM8 incorporating a timer in the form of an output signal 16. The RAM8 stores the pushing order (time) of keys of the device 1. When a fault occurs, a user connects an output reader S to an electronic device F and delivers an output instruction signal 14 through the deice 1 for operation of the output instruction. The interface I3 receives the signal 14 and sends an output signal 15 to the RAM8, reads out the stored operating procedure and prints out this procedure via an interface II 11. It is also effective to store the keys in the pushing order in place of the pushing order (time) in terms of the storage contents of the RAM8.

In the configuration diagram of the operation procedure memorization type copying machine F and the output reading device S shown in FIG. An interface I, 5a, performs processing such as encoding, and a CPU, 6, controls the machine and outputs the required output based on the output signal 4 from the interface 3.
RAM set and timer start signals sent from PU5 to RAM8 with a built-in timer, 7 is also the CP
RAM address signal from U5, 8 is RA with a built-in timer that stores the order (time) in which the keys of the operation input device are pressed.
An area for storing the order (time) in which certain keys are pressed in M is predetermined. Reference numeral 9 denotes a battery as a backup power source attached to the RAM 8 in consideration of the case where the power is turned off due to jam clearance, etc.; 10 denotes a RAM output signal for outputting the memorized operation procedure of the user to the interface I[11; 12; is an output signal from the interface I[11, and is output to the printer 13 or other output device. Note that the output reading device S has an interface 11.

Generally, the operations of a copying machine include setting the number of copies, selecting the upper or lower paper cassette, and setting the magnification.

For example, suppose that the setting for the number of copies is first input by the user into the operation input device 1 of the copying machine F (ST
EP-1), the operation output signal 2 is multi-signal processed by the interface 3 and becomes the operation output signal 4
The signal is input to the PU 5 to control the operation of the machine, and outputs the signal 6 to reset the RAM 8 and start the timer. Further, a RAM address signal 7 is output from the CPU 5, an address corresponding to the RAM 80 input mode is specified, an operation output signal 16 is input as data to that address, and the operation for setting the number of copies is stored (S
TEP-2).

Next, when another operation, for example, selection of a paper feed cassette, is input into the input device 1 (STEP-4'), the cassette selection operation is stored at the corresponding address in the RAM 8 in the same manner as the address specification described above. (STEP-5). In this way, a series of operating procedures such as setting the magnification (STEP-7) and setting the copy density (STEP-1o) are performed one after another.
This memory is retained in AM8 until the copying machine F completely completes the copying operation and the next series of operating procedures are set (5TEP-8, 11). That is, when the setting is newly started, the RAM 8 is reset and stores the new operating procedure.

If an abnormality such as malfunction or runaway occurs during operation input, copying, or after copying (STEP-3, S”T
EP-6, 5TEP-9, 5TEP-12), the user cancels the next setting, so the memory of the operating procedure remains retained. Therefore, in order to investigate the cause of the abnormality, the output reading device S is electrically connected to the copying machine F, and the output command signal 14 is inputted to the operation input device 1.
The output signal 15 processed by the interface I3 is inputted to the RAM 8, and the stored operation procedure is inputted to the RAM output signal 10 as the output signal 12 processed by the interface π11, and then output to the printer 13 or other device. Output to an output device (not shown) (STEP-13). By analyzing this output, errors in the setting procedure can be easily discovered, and the errors can be immediately resolved and prevented from occurring again.
