Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a bias magnetizing characteristic by using a magnetizing member for a magnetic circuit section of a bias field of a cartridge accommodating a photomagnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnet 16 is disposed so as to form a vertical field on a photomagnetic disk surface, and excited by a coil 18 for forming the field wound on a magnetic circuit 17. At an opposing side to the electromagnet with respect to the surface of the photomagnetic disk, an oscillating device 19 of a laser beam is placed, and the laser beam is irradiated on the photomagnetic disk as shown by arrows through an objective lens 20. A magnetic circuit 21 disposed in a cartridge is provided at an edge section of an opening section 22 of the cartridge on which the laser beam is irradiated and as a magnetizing material, for instance, soft iron and the like can be used. While the photomagnetic disk 11 shown by dotted lines is accommodated in the cartridge, the magnetic material 21 is placed in an edge section of the opening section 22 at the laser irradiating side 15 of the cartridge.

り、特にバイアス磁界の磁化特性を向上するための光磁
気ディスク用カートリッジの構造に関する。

ザビームが照射される裏面側では、光磁気ディスクを一
定の磁化状態にするために、磁界形成用電磁石によって

、磁界特性が劣化することと、又電磁石の構造が光磁気
ディスク面に対して垂直磁界を与えるための適切な構造
ではないことが問題点であり、そのため光磁気ディスク
をカートリッジに収納したままで光磁気記録をすること
が実用化されていないという不具合を生ずる。
