Abstract

PURPOSE:To elevate the fitness of a pressure sensor by combining a cylindrical guide member on the outer periphery of a pressure sensor and by fixing the pressure sensor on a cylinder head via the guide member thereof. CONSTITUTION:A guide member 30 fitting to the outer periphery of a pressure sensor 15 is formed with the press forming of a metallic plate into a cylindrical shape and a drawn stepped part 32 having a slit 33 on the lower part is provided and plural projections 35 on the outer periphery and clutch claw 34 cut- beut toward the inner part are provided, and also a cylindrical sealing member 36 consisting of a rubber, etc. is fitted to the outer periphery of the upper part. And after inserting the pressure sensor 15 to which the guide member 30 is fitted into the ignition plug inserting hole 31 of a cylinder head 10, an ignition plug 12 is fitted and a plug boot 40 is engaged to the upper part of the ignition plug 12, then, the flange 41 of the plug boot 40 is adhered closely to the sealing member 36 of the guide member 30. The fitness of the pressure sensor 15 is thus made better even if the ignition plug inserting hole 31 is deeper and there is no coming off at the time of attaching and detaching the ignition plug 12.

Since the pressure sensor 15 is tightened as a washer for the ignition plug 12, when the combustion pressure in the cylinder acts on the ignition plug 12, the tightening force increases or decreases, and as a result, the electric charge generated by the piezoelectric element 17 changes to the combustion pressure. In this way, the combustion pressure of the internal combustion engine can be accurately extracted as an electrical signal.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, in this case, the pressure sensor 15 tends to come off when the spark plug 12 is removed, and the pressure sensor 15 turns when the spark plug 12 is tightened, damaging the lead wire 21. Alternatively, the lower electrode 19 may be attached to the mounting surface 1.
It is difficult to make complete contact with the spark plug 12, and this problem becomes more serious as the depth of the spark plug 12 to the mounting surface 14 increases.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the present invention, since the pressure sensor is coupled to the guide member that is inserted and held in the spark plug insertion hole of the cylinder head, the pressure sensor can be attached easily even if the spark plug insertion hole is deep. In addition, the pressure sensor does not rotate or come off when the spark plug is attached or removed, and the lower electrode can be securely brought into contact with the mounting seat. Furthermore, the lead wire is shielded by the guide member, so it is not affected by ignition noise.
As a result, you can always get accurate output.
