オーバー等が起こり易くなるものである。さらに、内燃
機関の高出力に伴う点火系統の強化に対しては、スパー
クプラグ内に圧力センサーを内蔵することによって、よ
り精密な制御を行うことが提案されているが、スパーク
プラグ内に内蔵されるセンサーからの出力に関して絶縁
性が低いことから、正確な情報を得ることができず、点
火状態を十分に制御することができない上、内燃機関よ
り発生する振動によって引き起こされるセンサー側端子
と演算処理をするコンピュータ(CPU)に接続するリ
ード線側端子との接続が外れてしまったり、耐水性及び
気密性が熱等により劣化してしまう欠点かあり、また、
端子同士の極性を判断することか難しいことから、誤っ
て接続するとセンサー等を破損するおそれがある。そこ
で、この発明は上記従来のものの持つ欠点を改善するも
のてあり、簡単な構造により、内燃機関に使用されるス
パークプラグ、特にセンサーを内蔵するものに装着され
る、絶縁性、耐水性及び気密性に優れるプラグキャップ
を提供しようとするものである。

続電極をも分割することによって、極性を誤るることな
く正確に接続することができる。

スパークプラグ(9)に装着するときには、プラグキャ
ップ(1)をもってスパークプラグ(9)のコルゲーシ
ョン部(10)に本体(2)の内周(8)に着装されて
いるシリコンゴム等からなる被覆層(3)の弾性に抗し
て圧入することにより、上記スパークプラグ(9)のコ
ルゲーション部(10)の上部より突出するプラグ端子
(12)が、コード(6)の端部に設けられる金具(1
,3)により把持、固定され、プラグキャップ(1)の
内周を被覆する被覆層(3)が弾性をもってスパークプ
ラグ(9)のコルゲーション部(1−0)をも把持する

電極(11)の電極極性を二つに分け、上記出力取出し
用端子電極(11)に当接する接続電極(4)をも等間
隔に分離、配置することで、プラグキャップ(1)をス
パークプラグ(9)に装着したとき、センサー等から引
出される出力取出し用端子電極(11)の極性を常に一
致させることができ、装着時の極性を誤ることがないも
のである。
