Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a nontransferred toner from accumulating on the rough surface of a recording belt by arranging a plate magnet opposite to said belt apart at a prescribed interval near the position of a conductive roller to be separated from the belt and attracting the scattering nontransferred toner to this magnet. CONSTITUTION:The toner 19 of the recording belt 3 is transferred to a recording paper 12 by using a transfer roller 13, at that time, an electrostatic charge 20 of a latent image remaining on the recesses on the insulating belt 3 without leaking to the conductive roller 9 and charge 21 induced on the surface of the roller 9 with this charge 20 cause peeling discharge when the insulating belt 3 is separated from the conductive roller 9, and disturbance of an electric field near the position C of the roller 9, resulting in scattering of the nontransferred toner 19A. This toner 19A is attracted to the permanent plate magnet 31 of the electrostatic recording device, thus permitting accumulation of the untransferred toner on the rough surface of the recording belt 3 to be prevented.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to an image recording device used as an output device for facsimile machines and printers, and particularly relates to an image recording device that connects a recording electrode and a magnetic toner developer via an insulating recording material. In an electrostatic recording device that forms a toner image on an insulating recording medium at the same time as an image signal is applied, this method prevents the uneven surface of the recording medium from being contaminated by scattered toner among untransferred toner. The present invention relates to a prevented electrostatic recording device.

In recent years, in contrast to recording methods in which the latent image forming process and the developing process are separated, a direct recording method has been proposed in which these processes are performed simultaneously. The magnetic toner is brought close to the recording medium on the opposite side of the recording medium that the recording medium electrode needle is in contact with, and a voltage corresponding to the image signal is applied between the recording electrode needle and the sleeve of the developing machine to inject toner particles onto the recording medium. One of the inventors of the present invention has already proposed a recording apparatus that deposits toner particles and transfers the toner particles onto recording paper in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 57-105758 and other publications.

As explained with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3, after forming a toner image on the insulating recording medium 3, the insulating recording medium 3 is rotated and the recording paper 12 is placed on the grounded roller 9. It is conveyed parallel to the insulating recording medium 3, and the toner image is transferred onto the recording paper 12 from the back side using the transfer roller 13. After that, recording paper 1
The transferred image on 2 is fixed to the recording IE 12 by a fixing device 14. On the other hand, the insulating recording body 3 is further rotated, and alternating voltages having different phases are applied to each corona at a portion where the corona static eliminators 16 and 17 are placed opposite each other on both surfaces of the third insulating recording body. When applied to an electric appliance, the charge of the magnetic toner remaining on the insulating recording medium 3 is erased, and the force with which the magnetic toner adheres to the insulating recording medium 3 is weakened.

The recording process is repeated in this way to output an image, and since such a recording device simultaneously performs the latent image formation process using the recording electrode and the development process using the developing machine, As an output device, the device has the advantage of being simple in configuration, small in size, and low in price. Additionally, by using magnetic toner, untransferred toner can be collected in the developing machine and reused without cleaning, which has the advantage of making equipment maintenance easier and reducing the cost of consumables such as toner. .

The toner image 19 is transferred onto the recording paper 12 by applying a charge opposite to that of the toner image 19 to the recording IE 12 using the transfer roller 13 .

However, at this time, the latent image charge 20 is leaked to the conductive roller 9 due to the gap between the concave portion of the uneven surface provided on the surface of the recording medium 3 and the grounded conductive roller 9. It remains as it is. Therefore, a charge 21 having a polarity opposite to that of the latent image charge 20 is induced on the surface of the conductive roller 9.

When the recording medium 3 reaches the position C where it separates from the conductive roller 9 in this state, a peeling discharge occurs between the latent image charge 20 and the induced charge 21, and the disturbance of the electric field caused by the peeling discharge at this time causes the transfer. Very small amount of toner 1 to unfinished toner 19
9A scatters, and this scattered fine toner 19A floats in the air, enters the inside of the recording medium transport system, and is transferred to the recording medium 3.
It goes around and adheres to the uneven surface of the
This adhered toner accumulates and contaminates the uneven surface of the recording medium 3. For this reason, leakage occurs between adjacent styli, which are formed by a set of electrode needles. This leak melts the molding material that fixes the stylus, exposing the stylus. As a result, the withstand voltage between adjacent styli decreases, and when a voltage is applied to one stylus during recording, the adjacent stylus This has the disadvantage that it becomes conductive, making accurate pin selection impossible and damaging the stylus electrode.

That is, in the electrostatic recording device of the present invention, an electroconductive roller that is disposed opposite to the transfer roller, conveys the recording medium, and is at ground potential, and near the position where the recording medium is separated from the conductive roller.
A plate-shaped magnet is placed facing the recording medium at a predetermined distance, and the magnet attracts and removes the scattered toner that has not been transferred, so that the untransferred toner is removed from the uneven surface of the recording medium. This is to prevent it from being accumulated.

In such a recording apparatus, as described above, when the toner 19 of the recording medium 3 is transferred onto the recording paper 12 using the transfer roller 13, the toner 19 is not leaked to the conductive roller 9 and is transferred to the concave portion of the insulating recording medium 3. The residual latent image charge 20 and the induced charge 21 induced on the surface of the conductive roller 9 by the latent image charge 20 are the same as the induced charge 21 and the latent charge 21 when the insulating recording medium 3 is separated from the conductive roller 9. Due to the separation discharge between the image charge 20 and the conductive roller 9, the electric field is disturbed in the vicinity of the conductive roller 9 wC, and the untransferred toner 198 is scattered.
