Many have an adhesive layer on the bottom of the molded body using double-sided adhesive tape or the like. However, although these soft vinyl chloride materials are flexible and highly elastic, they undergo large dimensional changes due to thermal history. Especially in winter or in cold regions, the side moldings may shrink in the longitudinal direction due to thermal contraction. This shrinkage stress causes the adhesive layer to be destroyed at the end of the molding, resulting in a disadvantage that the adhesive layer is likely to peel off or fall off from the vehicle body.

提供することを目的とするものである。 This idea faced many difficult installation problems, as it was exposed to harsh natural conditions on the outside of the car body, and was itself long and slender, so it was attached to the car body using an adhesive such as adhesive. This side molding suppresses the shrinkage of the molding body due to natural conditions, especially thermal history, and increases its mounting strength. It also has excellent cushioning properties, which are the original function of the molding, and is lightweight and easy to decorate. The purpose is to provide the following.

The outer shell 12 has a smooth bottom surface 13 continuous in the longitudinal direction for forming an adhesive layer to be described later.
For example, if the core material 11 is a foam made of vinyl chloride resin, the outer shell 12 is formed of vinyl chloride resin or a mixture thereof with rubber, ABS resin, or the like. On the decorative side surface of the outer shell 12,
Decorations such as crest patterns or wood grain patterns may be applied as needed. FIG. 2 shows an embodiment in which decorative metal foils 20 of aluminum, stainless steel, etc. are attached to both sides of the main body of the side molding 10B having a chevron-shaped cross section.

It is desirable that the specific gravity be 0.7 to 0.85, and that the apparent specific gravity when combined with the outer shell 12 be approximately 1.0.

することができる。 First, since elastic foam is used as the core material of the molding, it is possible to not only provide a side molding with excellent cushioning properties, but also to prevent thermal contraction in the longitudinal direction that can cause an outer shell in cold weather. The shrinkage stress is changed into bending stress and dispersed inside the foam by the three-dimensional structure of the cell walls of the foam core material integrally formed inside the outer shell.
Shrinkage stress in the longitudinal direction of the molding is reduced or relaxed, and shrinkage of the side molding body can be prevented. Therefore, it is possible to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages of peeling and falling off of the molding caused by destruction of the adhesive layer at the ends of the molding due to shrinkage of the molding.

In addition, it becomes possible to easily increase the size of the side molding.

It is large and has excellent appearance retention properties during use. In addition, it is easy to form a shibori pattern or a wood grain pattern, and to form a metallic luster layer as described in the examples, and has excellent decorative workability.
