Conventionally, matte printed matter is produced by applying a desired print onto a metal foil such as aluminum foil using printing ink mixed with a large amount of a matting agent using a silk screen printing method, etc., and matting the metal foil surface into an oxidized silver or oxidized gold shape. was generally well known.

Alternatively, matte printed matter, etc., in which a metal foil base is matted in advance and desired printing is performed on the surface with ink containing a matting agent, is also known. However, in the former case, the desired matte prints, such as oxidized silver, cannot be obtained unless ink containing a considerable amount of matte agent is used, and the printing method has to be silk screen printing. There were flaws. When silk screen printing was used, there were problems such as poor reproducibility of fine patterns, relatively large amount of ink used, and poor printing speed. In the latter case, since the base material is a matte surface and does not have the original metallic luster, there is no contrast between the matte patterned area and the base surface, resulting in a very poor quality image.

The present invention will be described in detail below.Resins such as polyamides, polyester resins, etc. that exhibit relatively stable solubility are mixed in a mixed solution of a solvent suitable for the resin, such as toluene and ethyl acetate, to determine the solubility balance of the resin. By dissolving it in a solvent that dries relatively quickly and has good water affinity, such as hexane, and further dispersing a matting agent therein, it can be used as a printing ink suitable for gravure printing, such as glossy aluminum foil. A desired pattern is printed on the metal foil using the gravure printing method to form an image, and then moisture such as steam is directly applied to the surface of the ink layer of the formed image to whiten the surface of the ink layer. It is a metal foil print with a matte pattern similar to oxidized silver.

The manufacturing method is to first bond a metal foil such as aluminum onto a paper base using a desired adhesive, coat the surface of the foil with a vinyl chloride or vinyl acetate underlayer, and then apply a solvent to the surface of the foil. A solvent with a relatively quick drying property and good water affinity, such as hexane, which balances the solubility of the resin in a mixture of a resin residue such as polyamide or polyester that exhibits stable solubility, and toluene and ethyl acetate. A desired pattern is printed using the gravure printing method using a transparent gravure ink that is dissolved in the ink and a matting agent is dispersed therein, and after printing, before the ink is completely dried. Moisture such as steam is applied to the printed pattern surface to whiten the ink layer and form a matte pattern such as oxidized silver.

Now, to explain in more detail the method of forming a matte pattern of oxidized silver or oxidized gold on a metal foil such as aluminum foil of the present invention, the aluminum foil is preliminarily coated with a vinyl chloride-based underlayer coat. A lattice pattern was created on the surface using 50% polyamide resin reducer, 50% solvent consisting of 50% toluene, 30% ethyl acetate, and 20% hexane, and 50% fine powder of silica about 0.5 microns in the solvent.
Print using the gravure printing method using ~10% gravure printing ink, and spray steam immediately after printing. At this time, the printing ink absorbs or adsorbs water, causing the resin to become cloudy (translucent), and the printing ink layer is matted by the matting agent in the ink and the whitening development of the resin.

Whitening development involves mixing the solvent used for the resin with hexane, which has relatively high drying properties and good water affinity, so the solvent balance is poor and whitening development occurs when the resin receives moisture. It's getting easier. For this reason, by spraying steam after printing with a fixed mold, the resin is completely whitened, and in combination with the effect of the matting agent, a matting effect similar to that of oxidized silver can be obtained.

From the above, the metal foil printed matter of the present invention is different from conventional matted printed matter, and has an extremely excellent printing effect with a matte printed pattern of oxidized silver or gold due to the clouding action of the matting agent and resin. Since it can be printed using the ordinary gravure printing method, the production efficiency is high and the production cost is low, making it economical. By uniformly applying moisture such as steam, it is possible to produce printed matter that is extremely stable in terms of production. It is manufactured with excellent productivity.
