Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a thermal recorder to be used for both thermal transfer recording and thermal recording, by a construction wherein both a thermal transfer recording temperature table and a thermal recording temperature table are provided in a CPU, and a changeover switch for the temperature tables is provided. CONSTITUTION:A recording material 4 is rewound to bring a cut leding edge thereof close to heating elements 5 so that no blank part is generated at the leading edge at the time of the next transfer, resulting in a stand-by condition for the next transfer, while an ink sheet 2 is detachably fitted.
