Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a coating efficiency, by mounting a lid body fitted with a porous or fibrous brush body, pen body or the like to a bottle body holding a penetrant or a developing agent to coat the penetrant or the like at a point to be inspected by using it. CONSTITUTION:A brush body 3 or a pen body made of porous or fibrous material, for example, wool felt as lid body 2 is mounted to a bottle body 1 holding a penetrant and a developing agent to form a coating tool. The penetrant or the like can be coated at the desired location by the required amount simply by applying it at the part to be inspected holding the coating tool with a hand. Thus, the penetrant can be coated efficiently in a very simple and easy manner.

The penetrant inspection method consists of (1) applying a penetrating liquid to the surface of the test object by spraying or brushing and allowing it to penetrate into the cracks opened on the surface of the test object, and (2) removing any excess penetrant that has adhered to the test object. After removing the liquid with a washing liquid and drying the washing liquid, (3
) When a developer is applied to the surface of the specimen, the penetrating liquid in the scratches is drawn out, and a defect indicating pattern appears on the developer coating, thereby detecting the scratches.

When penetrants and developers are applied using conventional methods, they also adhere to unnecessary areas, requiring considerable effort to remove them. In particular, it is very difficult to remove penetrating liquid that has adhered to the body or clothing.

If there is a large amount of penetrating liquid adhering to unnecessary areas, not only will the cleaning liquid be wasted, but wastewater treatment will require a lot of labor and expense, and solvent vapor and fine developer powder will float around, causing health and safety issues. Particularly when the width of the inspection area is narrow, such as when inspecting a welded area, if the penetrating liquid or developer is sprayed, a large amount may adhere to unnecessary areas or become atomized and become suspended in the air. In addition, when applying with a brush, the no-ke must be repeatedly soaked in the container, and between the time it is applied, the liquid may fall from the tip of the brush and make a mess, or the container may be knocked over, making it difficult to handle. The present invention provides a bottle containing a penetrating liquid or a developer, and a porous or fibrous pen body, a brush body, or a pen body as a lid body.
This is a penetrant testing method that is characterized by applying a penetrant or developer to a specimen using an applicator equipped with a shell.

As the penetrating liquid to be put into the bottle, a known liquid containing 1 to 3% by weight of a coloring dye or a fluorescent dye in a solvent is used. In addition, the developer generally contains a white inorganic pigment in a solvent for 10 to 10 minutes.
Although 15% by weight of the white inorganic pigment is used, it is preferable to use 25 to 50% by weight of the white inorganic pigment based on the solvent since the coating film is thin when the developer is applied with the applicator used in the present invention. Regarding the developer, it is also effective to use a known method in which the pigment is sufficiently dispersed in a solvent and then glass beads or the like are placed in the bottle for use. Furthermore, if the developer in the bottle is applied directly to the pen body, brush body, or no. When a known device for feeding the body or the body is attached to the inside of the bottle, sufficient pigment is also applied so that the defect indicator pattern is easily visible.

Since the applicator containing the penetrating liquid or developer can be easily dispensed by holding it in the hand, the penetrating liquid or developer does not adhere to unnecessary parts of the subject or clothes. Also, there is no scattering due to spraying or dripping like in the case of no-ke coating.
It is preferable from a safety and hygiene perspective as it requires less consumption.
When the test object is washed after penetrant testing, the amount of wastewater to be treated is reduced, and the processing effort and cost can be significantly reduced.

When applying the developer, shake the applicator, use the glass beads numbered 11 to sufficiently disperse the pigment in the solvent, and press the brush body. The number 8 fixed to the brush body acts as a piston, creating a force that pushes the brush body. When released, spring 9 pushes the brush body. At this time, the developer can be sucked into the inner container 10 through the hole 7 and impregnated into the brush body 3, so that when applied, the amount of pigment applied increases and the defect indicating pattern becomes clearer.
