``Prior Art'' This type of connector, which is used as a means for making necessary electrical connections between rigid circuit boards or flexible circuit boards, or between a rigid circuit board and a flexible circuit board, is a connector that is used as a means for making necessary electrical connections between rigid circuit boards or flexible circuit boards, or between a rigid circuit board and a flexible circuit board. A large number of contact pins made of a spring material are arranged facing inside at required intervals, and the lower end of each contact pin is made to protrude straight from the insulating housing to the outside as a connection terminal. The terminals are pushed through the mounting holes or land holes of the circuit board on which this connector is mounted and connected by soldering. The other circuit board is inserted into the openings of the connector and electrically connected to each contact pin, thereby connecting both circuits. It has a structure that allows necessary electrical connections to be made between the substrates. Here, there is a method in which the other circuit board is attached to the connector through the insertion opening, and is connected only by press-fitting with appropriate elastic force of each contact pin, but in general, as a means to ensure the connection between them, Furthermore, a connection structure is adopted in which an auxiliary connection means such as a solder dip or a wire wrap pin is added, or in addition to these, a press-fit connection means as described above is used in combination.

"Problems to be Solved by the Invention" According to the connector having such a structure, the many connecting terminals that protrude straight are of a type that are pushed through the mounting holes or land holes of the mating circuit board to be mounted. Therefore, even if the wiring pattern density of the circuit board is quite high, it is extremely difficult to keep the spacing between the connecting terminals of the connector and the corresponding land patterns on the circuit board side below a certain level, considering the strength of the board, etc. Also, the limit pitch of the connection terminals on the connector side is generally lo++v+~1.25w+m even if a staggered terminal arrangement is adopted, for example.
It is limited to a certain extent. Furthermore, the staggered terminal arrangement described above to obtain this minimum pitch has the practical disadvantage of complicating the connector structure and increasing the cost of the product.

According to a connector with such a structure, it is possible to avoid the need to provide mounting land holes on a rigid circuit board or a flexible circuit board as in the past, so that the connection pattern on the circuit board side can be used to increase the density of other wiring patterns. On the other hand, the connection terminals of the connector according to the present invention can also be bent in the same direction or in opposite directions to each other in accordance with this fine connection pattern. By adopting the appropriate method, it is possible to set the effective limit pitch between the connecting terminals as small as possible, thereby creating a connector that can respond quickly enough to the increasing density of wiring patterns formed on the circuit board side. This means that it can be provided at low cost.

``Embodiment'' The drawings are conceptual structural diagrams of a connector configured according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. The example conceptually shows a cross-sectional view of a state in which a flexible circuit board is pressed and connected. In the figure, 1 indicates the entire connector of the present invention, which is an insulating A housing 2, an elongated insertion opening 4 extending inward from the upper end of the housing 2, and the insertion opening 4 as shown in FIG.
Each of the contact pins 3 is formed into a substantially inverted U-shape and is mounted so that its front end faces out. As shown in the figure, the connecting terminal 3A is formed by bending, for example, at right angles to the left. As shown in FIG. 1, when the flexible circuit board 5 in this example is inserted into the push-in opening 4 of the connector 1, the contact pins 3 come into elastic contact with the wiring pattern 5A of the circuit board 5, and soldering is prevented. It is possible to obtain the required electrical connection between each wiring pattern 5A and each corresponding contact pin 3 by press-fit contact without having to do the same. On the other hand, as conceptually shown in FIG.
After they are placed in contact with each other in a state where they are simply abutted, connection processing between the two can be easily performed by soldering 7 by means such as reflow.

As described above, the electrical connection between the connector 1 and the hard circuit board 6 can be made with the connection terminal 3A of the connector 1 in contact with the connection pattern 6A of the circuit board 6. It is sufficient to terminate the connection pattern 6A with a simple straight line as shown in FIG. 2. Therefore, as in the conventional method, a bulging land pattern and a mounting hole are formed at the end of each connection pattern. This eliminates the need for this, making it possible to make the spacing between the connection patterns 6A as small as possible, thereby effectively contributing to high-density wiring and cost reduction of the FIs substrate.

In addition, connections formed on the circuit board 6, pattern 6A
Connector 1 according to the invention corresponding to the pitch spacing of
The pitch between the connection terminals 3A can also be configured to be sufficiently narrower than in the conventional land hole insertion type. - For example, in the configuration example shown in Figures 1 and 3, the connection terminal 3
The pitch between A and A was able to be configured with stable accuracy of approximately 0.8 m+m. In addition, as a means to further narrow the pitch between each connecting terminal 38, adjacent connecting terminals 3
It is also possible to adopt a mode in which A is bent in opposite directions, and even with such a structure in which connection terminals are led out in alternately opposite directions,
Unlike the conventional method, the solder connection with the other party's circuit board can be processed without any problems. Furthermore, the above-mentioned connection of the connector 1 to the circuit board 6 can also be performed by automatic realization. Here, although a rigid circuit board is illustrated as the circuit board 6 in the above example, it may also be a flexible circuit board. A similar connection process is possible, and the flexible circuit board 5 to be press-fitted into the insertion opening 4 of the connector 1 is not limited to this, and the same connection process can be applied to other rigid circuit boards as well. I understand that there is something.

As is clear from the above description, the connector 1 having the above structure has surface contact connections □, □66°1A67 between each connection terminal 3A and the connection pattern 6A of the mating circuit board 6.
19. . Care 7': The circuit board 6 is not limited to having a circuit wiring pattern on one side only, but has a so-called double-sided structure in which the circuit board 6 has circuit wiring patterns 8A and 8B on both sides, respectively, as shown in FIG. Surface contact connection processing of the connector 1 similar to that described above can also be arbitrarily performed on the circuit board 8, and thereby, concentrated and high-density electrical connection processing between circuit boards can be achieved.

"Effects of the Invention" As described above, according to the connector of the present invention, there is no need to provide mounting holes or land holes on the circuit board side to be soldered connected, as in the past, so the circuit board can be manufactured at a low cost. In addition, it is sufficient that the connection pattern formed on this circuit board is simply a straight and narrow one, and therefore, the pitch of the connection pattern can be adjusted as much as possible to correspond to the spacing between the connection terminals of the connector of the present invention. By making it small, it is possible to achieve a high density and intensive external connection structure. In addition, since such connectors and circuit boards can be soldered together in surface contact, arbitrary connections can be made even in the middle of the circuit wiring pattern of the other circuit board, and there is no problem with double-sided circuit boards. It is possible to significantly increase the degree of freedom in connecting this type of connector and a circuit board, such as being able to connect the connector of the present invention without having to use the connector. Furthermore, in the connector of the present invention, by adopting a configuration in which the connecting terminals are bent in the same direction or alternately depending on the specifications, the critical pitch between the connecting terminals is configured to be much smaller than in the past. This structure is suitable for use with high-density circuit boards with fine circuit wiring patterns, and is therefore the most suitable for current electrical connections between circuit boards. There is.
