Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a bushing plate without causing the deformation and cracking of the nozzle hole, by protruding plural circular protrusions to a plate material, boring the nozzle holes to the protrusions from backside, and reducing the thickness of the nozzle wall by the electrical discharge machining of the outer circumfrence of the tip of the protruded nozzles. CONSTITUTION:A number of circular protrusions 2 are attached to the bushing palte material 1 made mainly of platinum. Each protrusion 2 is bored concentrically with a nozzle hole 3 from the backside of the plate e.g. by the extrusion machining with a punch, etc. to obtain a nozzle 4. The outer circumference of the tip of the nozzle 4 is subjected to the electrical discharge machining with an electrode having a number of circular cavities. The thickness of the nozzle wall is reduced and the tip of the nozzle is sharpened by this machining process. Molten glass can be extruded through the nozzle 4 of the bushing plate 5 without causing the damage of the nozzle by the pressure of the molten glass. Furthermore, since the wetting and spreading of the glass at the tip of the nozzle is limited, a thin glass fiber having high dimensional accuracy can be manufactured.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method of making a base plate, a so-called bushing plate, with nozzle holes of a molten glass filled box or bushing used for producing glass fibers, such as glass fibers or continuous glass filaments.

As shown in FIG. 1, a conventional bushing plate has a bushing plate material 1 with a number of circular protrusions 2 protruding from it, and nozzle holes 3 are formed in these circular protrusions 2 to form nozzles 4. be.

In such a bushing plate 5, since the nozzle 4 has a thick wall, the molten glass discharged from the nozzle spreads wetly on the tip surface, and the thickness of the spun glass fiber yarn is large and uneven, resulting in Accuracy was poor.

For this reason, attempts have been made to reduce the wall thickness of the nozzle 4, but if the outer periphery of the nozzle 4 is machined to reduce the wall thickness to 0.3 degrees or less, the nozzle hole 3 is likely to deform. . Further, when a circular protrusion 2 is protruded by pressing, etc., and a nozzle hole 3 is punched into the circular protrusion 2 to form a thin nozzle 4 with a wall thickness of 0.3 mm or less,
The tip of the nozzle 4 is likely to be deformed or cranked.

The present invention has been developed to solve such problems,
It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for manufacturing a bushing plate that can reduce the thickness of a nozzle tip without deforming the nozzle hole or causing warping in the nozzle hole.

The manufacturing method of the bushing plate of the present invention is as shown in FIG. As shown, a nozzle hole 3 is formed concentrically from the back side of the circular protrusion 2 by extrusion processing by punching to form a nozzle 4, and then the outer periphery of the tip of the nozzle 4 is formed with a large number of circular holes as shown in FIG. 2C. Electrode machining is performed using an electrode 7 provided with a diameter 6 to reduce the wall thickness and make the tip portion thinner.

Note that in order to arrange and protrude a large number of circular protrusions 2 on the bushing plate material 1, the bushing plate material 1 is placed on a mold table and pressed or rolled, or by cutting. The nozzle hole 3 is formed by cutting or extrusion.

As described above, in the bushing plate manufacturing method of the present invention, the outer periphery of the tip of the nozzle 4 is subjected to electrical discharge machining to reduce the wall thickness and make the tip thinner, so it is easy to use the nozzle 4 with a wall thickness of 0.31 or less. The tip of the nozzle 4 will not be deformed or cracked. Therefore, when molten glass is discharged from the nozzle 4 of this bushing plate 5, the nozzle 4 is not damaged by the pressure of the molten glass, and the spread of wetting at the tip is small, and the thickness of the spun glass fiber etc. Since the diameter is thin (and there is almost no variation), it is possible to obtain products with high dimensional accuracy.
