    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 車体のダッシュサイド間に強度部材を架設し、該強度部
    材にジャケットチューブを支持させるとともに、該ジャ
    ケットチューブ内に回転自在に挿通支持されるステアリ
    ングシャフトをアッパシャフトとロアシャフトとで構成
    し、該ステアリング−シャフトを所定の衝撃荷重によっ
    て車体に対して相対移動可能に支持する一方、前記強度
    部材とジャケットチューブとの支持部位間には、エネル
    ギ吸収部材を介装したことを特徴とんするエネルギ吸収
    式ステアリング装置。
