Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the sufficient effect of smoothing wrinkles by a method in which a running film is put between a pair of disks having their axes inclined mutually at the position of both sides in width direction and expanding force is given to the film by the rotation of said disks. CONSTITUTION:Disks 10 are supported rotatably, and a film 3 is put between the disks 10a, 10b, whereby the disks 10 are rotated by the driving force from the film 3. A pair of the disks 10 have a certain contact range determined by the elasticity of the film 3, the elasticity of the disks and the mutually inclined angle between the disk 10a and the disk 10b. As the circular arcs of the rotating disks are mutually in contact, at a film inserting part 13, the film 3 is gradually begun to be put between said disks smoothly, and after it has been inserted through a short range, it is released smoothly. The film inserting part 13 is kept for a certain time, whereby the wrinkles of the film are fully smoothed.

The expander roll 1 expands the film 3 in the width direction by giving the roll a curvature and utilizing the velocity component in the film direction on the roll surface as the roll rotates.
In order to effectively utilize the velocity component in the film's mid-direction direction, the winding angle around the film roll must be a certain value or more. Therefore, there is a problem that the film bath length between the rolls 4.5 before and after the expander roll 1 differs in the film width direction depending on the curvature of the expander roll 1, and tension unevenness occurs in the film width direction. Also, expander roll 1
Rolls usually have a complicated internal structure, which makes them unsuitable for high speeds and makes it difficult to obtain a long life. Moreover, they are considerably more expensive than ordinary rolls.

On the other hand, the cross guider 2 applies spreading force to the film by holding the film 3 between a pair of rolls 6 whose axes are inclined on both sides, but the film 3 is applied with an instantaneous and fixed direction force due to line contact with the rolls 6. There is a problem in that the wrinkle smoothing ability is low because only the spreading force of . In addition, in reality, the film itself has uneven thickness, and the edges on both sides of the film are usually thicker than other parts, so it is difficult to hold the film 3 with line contact in the width direction. There are also problems.

Structure and operation of the invention The film wrinkle smoothing device of the present invention that meets this purpose is as follows:

In such a wrinkle smoothing device, as the disks rotate, the film holding portions of the pair of disks on both sides of the film generate a velocity component in the film advancing direction and a velocity component in the direction of the film, that is, a velocity component in the direction in which the film is expanded. As the film advances through the disk portion, it is expanded in the middle direction to smooth out wrinkles. Since the axes of the pair of disks are tilted to each other, the film is held between the outer edges of the disks, and since the film is held between the disks, the film starts to be held neatly, and the elasticity of the film, the elasticity of the disk, etc. After a certain section is maintained, it is smoothly released. Therefore, unlike conventional cross guiders, a spreading force is applied to the film for a certain period of time, rather than instantaneously, and the film portion that is clamped is reliably displaced in the width direction as the disc rotates, so it is sufficient to A strong spreading force is applied to ensure that wrinkles are smoothed out. Also, the film between the disks on both sides of the film is in a free state.
- Therefore, tension unevenness in the width direction does not occur on the film. Furthermore, since the film is simply held between a pair of rotating discs, the structure is simple, it can easily handle high speeds, and it can provide a sufficient service life.

The film holding section 13 formed by the pair of disks 10 is a third
As shown in the figure, the film 3 is disposed at a position and in a direction where an expanding force is applied from the disk 10. That is, in the film holding part 13, the line 14 connecting the film holding part 13 and the axis 11.12 of the disk, that is, the rotation center of the disk, is
It is arranged so as to have a constant angle θ with respect to a line 15 perpendicular to the direction in which the film travels.

The upper and lower disks 10a and 10b of the film 3 are rotatably supported by bearings 30, respectively, and the bearings 30 are supported by brackets 16 and 17. The upper bracket 17 is supported so as to be able to swing up and down about a hinge 18, and is urged downward by a spring 19, that is, in a direction that presses the disk 10b against the disk 10a. The spring force of the spring 19 can be adjusted by an adjustment bolt 21 attached to a bracket 20. Note that this biasing means is not limited to a spring, and may be any other means such as an air cylinder.

Since the disk 10 is rotatably supported, by sandwiching the film 3 between both disks 10a and 110b, the disk 10 is rotated by being given a driving force from the film 3, and the rotational speed naturally matches the speed of the film 3. Synchronize.

As shown in FIG. 3, the film holding portion 13 is moved as the disk 10 rotates. It has a velocity component A in the tangential direction of the disk 10. This velocity component A has a velocity component C in the film width direction as well as a velocity component B in the film traveling direction because the film holding portion 13 has an inclination of θ with respect to the line 15 in the film width direction. Since this speed component C acts in a direction to spread the film 3 from both sides, the film 3 is spread in the width direction, and wrinkles in the film 3 are smoothed out.

The axes 11 and 12 of the pair of disks 10 are tilted to each other, and the outer edges of the disks 10 come into contact with the film 3.Theoretically, the film nipping section 13 makes point contact, but in reality, the elasticity of the film 3 , the elasticity of the disks 10, the mutual disks 10a
, 10b, etc. has a certain section determined by the inclination angle of , etc. In the film clamping section 13, since the arcs of the rotating disks come into contact with each other, the film 3 gradually and smoothly starts to be clamped, and after being clamped for a certain short period, is smoothly released. By having a certain section of the film clamping part 13, the film clamping state is maintained for a certain period of time, and compared to the instantaneous spreading force applied to the film 3 as in the conventional glue O guider, the film 3 is reliably and sufficiently applied. Expanding power is given. Furthermore, by having a certain section of the film clamping part 13, not only is an expanding force applied to the film 3, but the clamping part of the clamped film 3 is actually

In addition, since the film 3 is expanded from both sides by the disks 10, there is no problem of changing the film path as with conventional expander rolls, and the film 3 between the disks 10 is kept free, and during this time No tension unevenness occurs in the width direction of the film 3. Therefore, the wrinkles of the film 3 can be smoothly smoothed out without causing new wrinkles due to tension unevenness.

Next, FIG. 5 shows a film stretching device according to a second embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, the disks 22a, 22b are driven by drive motors 23a, 23b. Moreover, the upper disk 22b has a structure that
It is biased toward the lower disk 22a by being pulled by a spring 24 from below, and the spring force is adjusted by an adjustment bolt 25. Further, rubber 26 is applied to the side surface of the disk 22a of the upper disk 22b, so that the film 3 can be held elastically.

8- In such a wrinkle smoothing device, the disc 22a
, 22b, the disks 22a and 22b are driven and their rotational speeds are synchronized with the speed of the film 3, so that the film 3 is smoothly held without being subjected to impact. Furthermore, by driving the disk, the wrinkles in the film 3 can be smoothed out, and the film 3 can be actively fed out, and can also serve as a driving guide roll in a long film path. The drive motor 23a123b may be controlled in synchronization with the speed of the film 3, or may be controlled slightly faster than the speed of the film 3 to perform torque control. Other configurations and operations are similar to those of the first embodiment.
