Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of constituting components by a method wherein a thyristor is interposed into a key switch circuit in a starting motor for starting an engine to prevent the starting of the starting motor during inertia rotation or rotatio of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A motor 2 has a pair of permanent magnets 1 as the source of field and becomes a generator during the inertia rotation of the motor while the electromotive force thereof becomes the source of base current of a transistor 10 and the transistor 10 is put ON. Accordingly, the circuit of a resistor 11 is not conducted even when a key switch 7 is thrown in and the thyristor 8 is not also turned ON, therefore, a solenoid switch 4 is not operated and the starting motor is not started. When the engine is being rotated, the output of an alternator 18 puts the transistor 10 ON, therefore, the starting motor is not started in the same manner. Thus, the forming components of the starting motor, such as a pinion, a ring gear or the like, may be prevented from breakage.
