Abstract

PURPOSE:A repellent against blood-sucking annelid containing diethyltoluamide or/and a pyrethroid based insecticide as a repellent constituent, a base and if necessary a fixative without eccumulation properties nor toxicity to humans and cattle. CONSTITUTION:A repellent against blood-sucking annelid containing (A) a base, e.g. vaseline, and (B) one or more repellent components selected from pyrethroid based insecticides slelected from allethrin, phtalthrin and resmethrin and if necessary (C) a hydrogenated oil, e.g. coconut oil, and/or stearic acid glyceride as a fixative for improving the fixing property for weather and maintaing the repellent effect for a long term. The above-mentioned repellent is obtained by melt kneading 1-10pts.wt., preferably 2-5pts.wt. component (B) with the rest of the component (A) to give 100pts.wt. repellent, and if necessary kneading 1- 10pts.wt. component (C) therewith.

In the past, crude drugs have been studied to prevent bites from arthropods such as insects and ticks.

The present invention has been completed by discovering that the repellent effect can be maintained for an extremely long time by adding hydrogenated oil and fat and/or stearic acid glyceride as a retention agent.

That is, the present invention provides a blood-sucking annelid repellent comprising a base, a repellent component and, if necessary, a retention agent, in which one or more selected from diethyltoluamide and pyrethroid insecticides are used as the repellent component.
