In the method of cooling a metal strip while being wound around a rotary cooling body, in order to uniformly cool the metal strip in the width direction, it is necessary to bring the metal strip into contact with the surface of the rotary cooling body with an even surface pressure. For this reason, the outer peripheral shape of the rotary cooling body must be flat, which results in the metal band meandering during the process of transporting the metal band while being wound around the rotary cooling body. The object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned problems and to obtain stable threadability and uniform cooling characteristics of the metal strip. A method of heating a running metal strip in a continuous metal strip processing line, and then cooling the metal strip while winding it around a cooling roll provided with hollow holes in the lengthwise direction of the body and through which a refrigerant flows is described, for example, in JP-A-51- This is proposed in Publication No. 104417.

According to the research conducted by the present inventors, it is clear that when cooling a metal strip using a rotating cooling body through which a refrigerant flows, the contact surface pressure between the rotating cooling body and the metal strip greatly influences the cooling characteristics.

That is, as a first aspect of the present invention, a high-temperature metal strip in a continuous metal strip processing line is introduced into a rotary cooling body group including a rotary cooling body whose center axis is variable and can be adjusted to an arbitrary angle with respect to the bus line. A second invention provides a method for cooling a metal strip characterized by transferring the metal strip while winding the metal strip, and furthermore, as a second invention, a refrigerant is passed through the inner circumferential surface of the body in a continuous metal strip processing line, and an optional cooling method is provided for the bus line of the metal strip. A rotary cooling body group including a rotary cooling body with a variable center and axis that can be adjusted to an angle of The present invention provides a cooling device for a metal strip, which is provided with an arithmetic mechanism that inputs a detected value of the meandering amount as a control amount of the angle of the rotating body.

When cooling a metal strip in a continuous metal strip processing line, it is known that it is necessary to uniformly cool the metal strip in both the width direction and the length direction due to quality constraints of the metal strip.

Furthermore, when transporting the metal strip on the above-mentioned line, it is necessary to minimize meandering of the metal strip in order to prevent scratches and breakage of the metal strip. Furthermore, when understanding the heat transfer characteristics between the metal band and the refrigerant in the rotary cooling body as the cooling characteristics of the metal band, the contact surface pressure between the rotary cooling band and the metal band has a large influence on the cooling characteristics.

On the other hand, in a continuous metal strip processing line, the rotating body that winds the metal strip and transports the metal strip usually has a crowning process applied to the outer periphery of the rotating body in order to prevent the metal strip from meandering. The shape of the metal strip is not completely smooth;
If the metal band is wound around a rotating body that is flat in the width direction and transported, it is inevitable that the metal band will meander. That is, the present invention provides a rotary cooling body equipped with a mechanism for tilting the central axis of rotation of a part of the rotary cooling body group according to the amount of meandering of the metal strip immediately before and after (or on one side of) the rotary cooling body group. This proposes that meandering can be corrected by tilting.
