Conventionally, columnar materials used for furniture, daily necessities, construction materials, etc. have been formed by cutting the surface of a single piece of wood. However, this conventional columnar material cracks and
It tends to twist, warp, etc. and lacks dimensional stability, which in turn has a negative effect on furniture, daily necessities, etc. made using it. Furthermore, with this conventional method, the cutting process is time-consuming, and if a hollow columnar material is to be manufactured, a large amount of the saw layer will be removed during the cutting process to form the hollow part, which is a resource-intensive process. However, it is extremely wasteful and increases manufacturing costs.

Moreover, despite the recent demand for natural precious woods, resource constraints have made it extremely difficult and expensive to obtain the desired wood. However, in the method of manufacturing a columnar material by cutting as described above, it is difficult to obtain the desired columnar material, and if high-quality materials are used for manufacturing, the manufacturing cost becomes high. In addition, as proposed by the present applicant (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 52-118821), the convex curved side of a curved plate material that is curved to close the groove openings of a plurality of narrow grooves opened in parallel on one surface is flexible. There is also a column that uses a circular plate with a non-stretchable sheet pasted on the sheet and concave curved side, but if you want to use this to form a concave part with an arcuate cross section, you will need to open the groove opening. There is also a problem in terms of strength, and since it uses a flexible sheet that has different properties from original wood, there is a problem in using it in exactly the same way as wood. In consideration of the above circumstances, the present invention has a luxurious appearance, a wide variety of shapes, allows you to easily obtain what you want, and even when using high-quality natural wood, it can be used without wasting it, preventing cracks and twisting. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for manufacturing a columnar material, which can produce a large quantity of columnar material at low cost, which is resistant to warping, has good dimensional stability, and is durable. Embodiments of the present invention will be specifically described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a part of a wooden columnar material 1 manufactured by the manufacturing method according to the present invention. 3, and are butted and bonded to the plate material 2b, which is a flat plate material.

As shown in Figure 3, cedar, cypress, zelkova, paulownia, teak,
A plate material 2 is prepared by laminating and adhering a high-quality material such as rosewood, ebony, or rosewood as a surface material 4 on the surface of a plywood base plate 5. The thickness of the surface material 4 of the plate material 2 is such that even when cutting and polishing is performed to prepare the surface of the surface material 4 as described later, the thickness of the base plate 5 is the same as the outer surface of the completed wooden columnar material 1. The thickness may be such that it is not exposed, for example, about the thickness of about 2 degrees. First, the length of the prepared board 2 corresponds to the length of the target wooden column 1 and the width corresponds to the outer circumference of the wooden column 1, and then as shown in FIG. 3,
A plurality of highly flexible sheets 7a, 7b such as paper tape or cloth tape are pasted in the longitudinal direction on both sides of the plate material 2, corresponding to the notch grooves 6a, 6b having a V-shaped cross section that will be formed later. wear it. Note that the flexible sheets 7a and 7b may not be attached as shown in FIG. 3, but may be attached to the entire surface of the plate material 2, and the method of attachment is not limited to the above example. Thereafter, cut grooves 6a having a V-shaped cross section are cut at predetermined intervals from the other surface of the plate material 2 to which the flexible sheet 7a is attached using a mechanical tool such as a saw or a cutter, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. A belt-like plate material 2a is formed which is parallel to the length direction and has a substantially trapezoidal cross section forming a concave portion 3 having an arcuate cross section. 4
As shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 5, a plurality of notch grooves 6b each having a V-shaped cross section and having an angle larger than the angle θ formed by the groove walls of the notch groove 7a are opened in parallel in the longitudinal direction at predetermined intervals, and the grooves have an arcuate cross-section. It is divided into a plate material 2a forming a recess 3 and a flat plate material 2b.

Note that the depth of the notch grooves 6a and 6b, which have a square cross section, is the same as that of the flexible sheets 7a and 7 attached to the surface of the plate material 2.
The optimum depth is to reach the back surface of the flexible sheets 7a and 7b, but not to damage the flexible sheets 7a and 7b. Moreover, the notch groove 6a (
7) The angle θ formed by the groove wall should be appropriately determined depending on the curvature of the recess 3 having an arcuate cross section of the target wooden columnar material 1. However, since the notch groove 6a is formed using a mechanical tool such as a saw, the relationship therewith should be taken into consideration. Therefore, considering the degree of damage to the cutting edge of the cutting tool that cuts the notched groove 6a and the digging speed, it is appropriate that the angle 0 formed by the groove wall of the notched groove 6a is about 9 to 15 cuts. Of course, angles other than the above may be used, but if the angle is smaller than 9 degrees, the cutting edge of the cutter is likely to break. Next, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the plate material 2 is sequentially bent by bending the flexible sheet 7a so as to close the notch groove 6a, and the notch groove 6a (7) The groove walls are tightly joined and bonded to each other via an adhesive to form a recess 3 having an arcuate cross section, and the plate material 2 is bent using the flexible sheet 7b as a guide to close the notched groove 6b. , the notched grooves 6b are closed and continuous using adhesive or the like, and then the flat plate material 2 is formed.

After that, the flexible sheets 7a and 7b may be removed from the outer surface of the plate material 2. However, if this continues, an uneven surface will be formed at the notched groove 6a portion, and the outer surface of the finished wooden columnar material 1 will be unsightly. In this embodiment, the columnar Cutting on the outer surface of the body,
Perform polishing. As described above, the wooden columnar material 1 as shown in FIG. 1 is completed, but the wooden columnar material 1 has almost no visible cuts on its circumferential surface, and a hollow portion 8 exists inside it.
