Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform recorded picture checking (REC-R) irrespectively of the type of VTRs, by discriminating a VTR connected with a camera whether or not it requires a serial code signal for making the REC-R and outputting control signal in accordance with the VTRs. CONSTITUTION:Since a serial clock appears at a terminal 4 when a VTR connected with a cable operates with a serial code, the clock is sent from a discriminating circuit 32 to a serial code generating circuit 34 through a signal line 41 when an REC-R switch 31 is turned on. A code generated from the generating circuit 34 is outputted as serial data to a terminal 3 through a discriminating circuit 33. On the other hand, when a VTR connected with the cable is of another type, no serial clock appears at the terminal 4, and therefore, the discriminating circuit 32 operates a constant voltage generating circuit 35 and outputs a constant voltage to the terminal 3 through the discriminating circuit 33 when the switch 31 is turned on.
