Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable formation of a uniform developer layer over a longitudinal direction on a carrying body by forming a layer forming member which forms the thin layer of the developer on the carrying body into the shape at which both ends in the longitudinal direction contact with the carrying body at the stronger force than in the intermediate part. CONSTITUTION:A blade 2 for forming a thin layer of a developer on a carrying body 1 in press contact therewith is formed of a thin-walled plate-shaped metal and reinforcing plates 3 consisting of metallic plate-shaped bodies are attached and fixed to both ends in the longitudinal direction thereof. The rigidity at both ends is therefore made larger than the rigidity in the intermediate part.
