Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a noise of intake air with simplified construction, by forming an intake air introducing member mounted to an air cleaner case from a porous fiber layer, molding glass fiber or the like into a cylindrical shape, and a hard material layer formed in the peripheral surface of said fiber layer. CONSTITUTION:An air cleaner element 2 is horizontally provided in an air cleaner case 1 and connected to a carburetor 6 through a pipe-shaped connecting member 5 fitted to an opening formed in one side face of the air cleaner case. A pipe-shaped intake air introducing member 7, being inserted to an opening 4 formed in an upper face of the air cleaner case, is formed by a cylindrical fiber layer, consisting of inorganic fiber such as glass fiber, ceramic fiber, etc. or synthetic resin such as polyester, vinyl chloride, etc., and a hard material layer 9 formed on the external surface of said fiber layer. In this way, a noise of intake air can be reduced.

In motorcycles, the outside air sucked into the air cleaner case is purified by an element installed inside the case, the air that passes through this element is sent to the carburetor to form a mixture, and this mixture is supplied to the engine. I try to do that. For this reason, outside air is always sucked into the air cleaner case while the engine is running, but in conventional air cleaner devices, no improvements have been made to the intake introduction member attached to the air cleaner case. This is the majority of the noise, and this is why a thick humming noise accompanies the intake air. There is a type of air cleaner case in which a sound-absorbing material is installed inside the intake tally, but this has the disadvantage that the work of installing the sound-absorbing layer inside is troublesome and increases the cost considerably.

As an example of the manufacturing method of the intake air introduction member 7, first, long glass fibers or ceramic fibers are cut into appropriate lengths, mixed to form a cotton-like fiber, and this cotton-like fiber is pressed by a roller and nitrided. to obtain a fiber mat. Then, the fiber layer 8 is formed by coating or impregnating the fiber mantle with an inder such as water glass, placing the fiber in a mold having a predetermined shape, and firing under pressure. Next, a liquid thermosetting resin such as a phenol resin, an epoxy resin, or a polyester resin is sprayed or brushed onto the outer surface of the fiber layer 8, and heated. A hard phase layer 9 is formed on the side surface. In addition, it is not a liquid resin but a plate-shaped resin,
When using a resin plate, a resin plate is attached to the outer surface of the fiber layer 8 and then heated. When forming a hard phase layer 9 made of a thermoplastic resin on the outer surface of the Ti fiber layer 8, the fiber layer 8 is heated, then the thermoplastic resin is applied, and then pressure is applied with a mold, and after cooling. All you have to do is remove the mold. Further, in the above, the fiber layer 8 and the hard material layer 9 are formed in separate steps, but by firing the fiber layer 8, a hard phase layer made of the same material as the fiber layer 8 is formed on the outer surface thereof. You may also do so. In this way, the intake air introduction member 7 can be removed in one step.
It becomes possible to form.

Further, the intake air introducing member 7 may be constructed as shown in FIGS. 2 to 4. That is, the air intake introduction member 7 shown in FIG.
A retaining material layer 10 made of the same material as the hard material and having a large number of openings 10a'e is formed on the inner surface of the fiber layer 8. By doing so, fibers are not scattered from the fiber layer 8 with the intake air. This is effectively prevented. Note that the holding material /f10 does not necessarily have to be of the same quality as the hard material layer 9. Further, in the intake air introduction member 7 shown in FIG. 3, an inward flange portion 9 is provided at the lower end portion of the hard material layer 9.
A is provided, and this flange portion 9a effectively prevents the fiber layer 8 from dropping downward.Furthermore, the air intake introduction portion A' shown in FIG. The holding material layer 10 and flange portion 9a shown in FIG.

On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 1, a sound insulating plate 11 is provided across the lower surface of the air cleaner case 1 and the side surface opposite to the surface on which the connecting portion 5 is attached. This sound insulating plate 11 is for blocking noise leaking from the air cleaner case 1 to the outside, and its shape has an abbreviated shape on the side, and is formed on the same fiber layer 12 as described above and on the outer side of this fiber layer 12. It consists of a hard material layer 13. As shown in FIG. 5, the fixing means is formed by forming a bulge 14 on the lower and side surfaces of the air cleaner device 21, and attaching the sound insulating plate 11 to the bulge 14 and attaching bolts 15 from the outside. It is fixed by

As explained in Section 2 below, according to the present invention, the air intake introduction member to be attached to the air cleaner case is formed by forming a porous fiber layer made of various fibers such as glass fiber into a cylindrical shape and forming the outer peripheral surface of the fiber layer. Since the air cleaner case is constructed of a hard material layer, intake noise emitted from the air cleaner case to the outside can be effectively reduced. Furthermore, in the past, it was necessary to load a sound-absorbing material into the intake pipe in order to reduce the intake noise, but according to the present invention, the intake introduction member itself has a sound-absorbing material, so a special It is possible to reduce intake noise without any additional work, and it also has a significant effect on productivity.
