However, in all of the clothes dryers that have been proposed so far, the dehumidifying unit is built into the inside of the cabinet, so the work to connect the various parts involved in installing it is done in a narrow space inside the cabinet, and moreover, it requires a rotating drum, etc. The work has to be done while being hindered by the internal components of the cabinet, making the work highly difficult and extremely inefficient.Furthermore, the internal structure of the cabinet has tended to become more complicated in consideration of the incorporation of a dehumidifying unit.

(Purpose) The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems, and it is possible to change the dehumidification unit from the exhaust type to the dehumidification type by attaching the dehumidification unit to the outer surface of the cabinet, thereby simplifying the work at the time of the change. It is designed to overcome the drawbacks of the conventional method, such as measuring.

Reference numeral 16 denotes a dehumidifying unit which is formed by dividing a circulation communication passage 17 and a cooling passage 18, providing a heat exchange section 19 between the two passages 17 and 18, and arranging a cooling fan 2o in the cooling passage 18. It is attached to the front surface by appropriate means and communicates between the intake port 9 and the exhaust port 14 in the attached state. The cooling passage 18 has a suction port 2 for taking in outside air.
1 at one end and discharge ports 22 at the other end for discharging air after contributing to cooling. In addition, the heat exchange wall 23 that partitions both passages 17 and 18 in the heat exchange section 19 is bent into a wave shape as shown in FIG. 4 to increase the heat exchange area.
The free end of the rotating shaft 24 is connected to the blower fan 12 side through the air intake port 9 when the dehumidifying unit 16 is attached. This connection structure includes, for example, a joint provided on both the rotating shaft 24 and the boss portion of the blower fan 12 (or the rotating shaft of the motor 11), and this side joint is mechanically coupled by concave-convex engagement, magnetically coupled by a magnet, etc. Any configuration is sufficient as long as the blower fan 12 and the cooling fan 20 can be rotated simultaneously by the motor 11.

In the above configuration, when the clothes dryer is used without the dehumidifying unit 16 installed, it functions as an exhaust type. That is, when the heater 8 and the motor 11 are energized to start operation, the rotary drum 4 rotates to agitate the items to be dried such as clothes, while the outside air sucked in from the intake port 9 by the blower fan 12 is heated by the heater 8. After heating up, it enters the rotating drum 4,
It functions as a so-called exhaust-type clothes dryer that contributes to the drying of the items to be dried and then discharges the clothes containing a large amount of moisture to the outside of the machine from the exhaust port 14 through the exhaust passage.

Next, by attaching the dehumidifying unit 16 to the front of the cabinet 1, connecting the intake port 9 and the exhaust port 14 through the circulation communication passage 17, and connecting the cooling fan 20 to the blower fan 12 side, the dehumidifying type clothing can be removed. Can be converted into a dryer. However, when the heater 8 and motor 1 are energized to start operation in this state, the rotating drum 4 rotates to agitate the items to be dried such as clothes, and the cooling fan 20 supplies cooling air (outside air) into the cooling passage 18. ) is forcibly blown to cool the dry air in the heat exchange section 19, while the dry air by the fan 12 is heated by the heater 8 to increase its temperature -> drying of the material to be dried inside the rotating drum 4 - cooling in the heat exchange section 19 The dehumidifying cycle is repeatedly circulated in order to proceed with drying of the items to be dried, thus functioning as a dehumidifying type clothes dryer.

1. The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above and shown in the drawings, and may be modified as appropriate without departing from the scope of the invention, such as by providing the intake port 9 and the exhaust port 14 on the side or rear surface of the cabinet 1. (Effects) As described above, the present invention can be converted from an exhaust type to a dehumidifying type by attaching a dehumidifying unit to the outer surface of the cabinet, so the work required at the time of reassembly is 1i. The present invention is extremely useful because work efficiency can be significantly improved, and the internal structure of the cabinet does not have to be complicated due to the incorporation of a dehumidifying unit.
