That is, the positioning member 3 is connected to the light emitting unit 1.
The light-emitting unit 1 and the light-receiving unit 2 are placed close to each other so that the light-emitting body 8 and the light-receiving body 18 of the light-receiving unit 2 correspond to each other. The width L (see FIG. 1) is such that there is a gap large enough to allow A to pass through. Further, a dowel 23 that fits into a positioning hole 22 provided in the light receiving unit 2 is formed protrudingly on one side surface (the front side in FIG. 1) of the positioning member 3, and the light receiving unit Screw holes 24, 24 are formed at positions corresponding to the two insertion holes 21, 21. Furthermore, a dowel 25 that fits into the positioning hole 16 of the light emitting unit 1 is formed protrudingly on the other side surface (back side in FIG. 1) of the positioning member 3, as described above. 1 insertion hole 15
Screw holes 26, 26 are formed at positions corresponding to a, 15a (see FIG. 1). Furthermore, the mounting member 6 is constructed as follows. That is, this mounting member 6 is a flat plate bent into an L shape, and screw holes 27 are formed at one end thereof at positions corresponding to the insertion holes 15b and 15b of the light emitting unit 1. The other end has a dowel 28 projecting from the frame 5 of the machine body.

That is, each unit 1, 2 is inserted into the machine body through the unit insertion openings 37, 37 formed in the frame 5 of the machine body. In this case, the conveyor belts 34, 34, which are in contact with each other and convey the paper sheet A, are inserted so that the light emitting unit 1 and the light receiving unit 2 are sandwiched therebetween. Each roller 14..., 20 of each unit 1, 2 inserted in this way

When the units 1 and 2 are arranged so as to sandwich the . . . , both ends of the units 1 and 2 protrude outside the frame 5. Therefore, the positioning members 3, 3 are attached between both ends of each of the protruding units 1, 2 in the same manner as described above.
After this, each hole 15b formed in the light emitting unit 1...
The screw holes 27 of the mounting members 6, 6 are made to correspond to the screw holes 27, and are attached using screws (not shown). In this case, since the mounting members 6, 6 are attached to the frame 5, the units 1, 2 and the members 3, 3 are attached to the frame 5. In this way, each unit 1,
2 is installed, each light emitting element 8... has already been assembled and adjusted outside the machine body.
Not only do the optical axes of each light-emitting body 8 and each photoreceptor 18 match, but the distance between each light-emitting body 8 and each photoreceptor 18 is constant. Next, a case will be described in which overlapping feeding of paper sheets A is detected using the detection device assembled as described above.

As shown in FIG. 1, the paper sheet A is fed from below to above, is conveyed while being held between the conveyor belts 34, 34, and when passing through the detection device, the light emitters 8... The paper sheet A is irradiated with light from the irradiated light, and the transmitted light of this irradiated light is received by the photoreceptor 18..., and depending on the amount of received light, it is determined whether or not two or more sheets of paper sheet A are overlapped. is determined. In this case, in particular, each roller 14 of the light emitting unit 1...
Since the conveyor belts 34, 34 are held between the rollers 20, . . . of the light receiving unit 2, a waving phenomenon (conveyance As a result, the paper sheets A can always be detected at a predetermined position, the detection level is stable, and overlapping of the paper sheets A can be detected accurately. Moreover, by providing the rollers 14..., 20..., the conveyor belt 34,
34 is prevented from jamming.

As explained in detail above, the present invention provides a first light emitter.
a light-emitting unit attached to a second mounting plate; a light-receiving unit having a photoreceptor attached to a second mounting plate; Since the structure is equipped with a positioning member to align the optical axes of the light emitter and the light receiver and keep the distance between them constant, the optical axis adjustment of the light emitter and the light receiver and the adjustment of these distances are performed outside the machine. In addition, each of the above adjustments can be easily performed using the positioning member, and even once installed inside the machine, it can be easily taken out of the machine, making it easy to replace parts and perform maintenance and inspection in the event of a breakdown. can be done extremely easily. Further, in the present invention, the light emitting unit is provided with a first roller that is close to the light emitting body and is rotatable in the conveying direction of paper sheets, and the second roller is provided in the light emitting unit similarly to the first roller. and when the units are assembled, the rollers are configured to sandwich paper sheets between each other via the conveyor belt, so at the location where overlapping paper sheets are detected, The waving phenomenon of the conveyor belt (conveyor belt vibration) is prevented, and as a result, paper sheets can always be detected at a predetermined position, the detection level is stable, and overlapping sheets can be detected accurately. There are effects such as being able to. In addition, a guide member is provided in each of the light emitting unit and the light receiving unit, and a sloped portion is provided so that the opposing distance between the two guide members is gradually narrowed, and furthermore, paper sheets guided by the sloped portion are guided by a pair of mutually parallel guides. Since the distance between the light emitting body and the light receiving body is maintained constant while guiding between the rails, paper sheets can be reliably guided to the detection position, and the distance between the opposing guide members can be adjusted. This has the effect that adjustments and other operations can be performed under favorable working conditions outside the machine, as well as maintenance work for the light emitter and photoreceptor.

1 In a detection device that optically detects whether or not paper sheets that are conveyed while being held one by one between a pair of conveyor belts overlap, a first guide attached to a first mounting plate is used. A light emitting unit in which a light emitter is attached within a member and a light receiving unit in which a light receiver is attached in a second guide member attached to a second mounting plate are opposed to each other with their optical axes aligned. A positioning member is provided between the light-emitting unit and the light-receiving unit to maintain a constant mutual interval therebetween, and the light-emitting unit is
A first roller that presses one of the pair of conveyor belts from the inside near the light emitter is rotatably provided, and a first roller that presses the other of the pair of conveyor belts from the inside near the photoreceptor is provided in the light receiving unit. 2 rollers are rotatably provided, and the first and second guide members include an inclined portion that guides the paper sheets by gradually narrowing the opposing interval toward the transport direction of the paper sheets, and a slope portion that guides the paper sheets. It is characterized by having a linear guide rail that positions the paper sheet in the direction in which the light emitting body and the light receiving body face each other from a position where the facing distance between the parts is the narrowest toward the front in the direction of movement of the paper sheet. This is a paper sheet stack feed detection device.
