転写する構成の熱転写形カラープリンタにおいて、対を
なす光源及び受光部を該光源からの光が前記サーマルイ
ンクリボンを透過して受光部に受光されるように配置す
ると共に、その受光部の受光状態により前記サーマルイ
ンクリボンの色素の種類を検知する検知手段を設けたこ
とを特徴とする熱転写形カラープリンタ。 2 サーマルインクリボンは3原色の色素を有し、光源
は夫々上記色素のうちの異なる組合せの2種類に対して
同様の透過特性を有する第1の発光色の第1の発光素子
及び第2の発光色の第2の発光素子から構成されている
