Abstract

PURPOSE:To set the optimum gap length for a recording head and a reproducing head respectively and to improve the characteristics of a magnetic head, by forming a cut area to the gap surface with the width equal to the value obtained by subtracting the width of the 2nd spacer from the 1st spacer width and putting a single side of the 1st spacer into the cut area. CONSTITUTION:A spacer inserting cut area 8 having width (c) equal to the value obtained by subtracting the optimum gap length (a) of a reproducing head core from the optimum gap length (b) of a recording head core is formed on a gap surface 7 corresponding to each of recording heads W1 and W2.
