Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the damage to be inflicted on a medium and to improve the reliability of a device by bending a gimbals spring by tension. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head slider 31a is fitted to a movable arm through the spacer 33a mounted on the gimbals spring 32a having tension bending 38, and the magnetic head slider is pressed at a loading point 39a with a load spring (not shown in a figure) which applies a head load, and put into head drooping state. The position of the tension bending is the point obtained by dividing the distance between the loading point 39 and the end surface 40a of a spacer in about 2:1 proportion when the shape of the gimbals spring is the same to the overall length.
