Description

[Detailed Description of the Invention] The present invention relates to a steam sterilizer that sterilizes objects to be sterilized by filling the chamber with high-temperature, high-pressure steam.

In this type of sterilizer that fills the chamber with high-temperature, high-pressure steam, the air in the chamber is removed and the chamber is filled with steam, but if too much air is mixed in, sterilization will be incomplete.

In this kind of conventional steam sterilizer, as shown in Fig. 3, the front opening 2 of the chamber 1 is hermetically closed with a lid 4 through a gasket 3, and the objects to be sterilized are placed on a shelf 5 installed inside. A steam supply pipe 7 from which high-temperature, high-pressure steam is ejected is connected to the center of the bottom of the chamber 1, and a discharge pipe 8 is connected to the back of the bottom.

In such a configuration, when steam is released from the steam supply pipe 7, as the steam fills the pipe, air, which has a higher specific gravity than the steam, moves downward.

Air and drain collected at the bottom are discharged from the exhaust pipe 8 via a steam trap 9, which is removed from the steam flow path and connected to the connection port 11.1 between the steam pipe 7 and the exhaust pipe 8.

As mentioned above, in the steam sterilizer of the present invention, the steam supply pipe is connected to the front part of the bottom of the chamber, and the discharge pipe is connected to the back of the bottom, or vice versa, so that no air pockets are formed at the bottom of the chamber. A highly effective steam sterilizer that can perform reliable sterilization can be obtained.
