Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve an automatic suction and the detection of the presence of a paper with a simple construction by controlling an alarm section and a motor control section according to the information on a detector for presence of paper provided at a paper feeder. CONSTITUTION:When a paper 2 is inserted onto a sensor 1, light of a photodiode is reflected on the paper 2 and information is fed to a microprocessor 3. The processor 3 issues an instruction for rotating a motor 6 to a motor control section 5 to make the paper 2 to be sucked to the home position with a platen 7 and a roller 8. As the motor 6 rotates for a fixed time, the processor 3 sends an instruction of stopping the motor 6 to the motor control section 5. At this point, the paper 2 is driven to the home position while a data to be printed is taken into a printing section. The processor 3 judges the end edge of the paper and issues an instruction of driving the motor 6 to the motor control section 5 to drive the paper 2 by one line of printing. The processor 3 generates an alarm by an alarm device 4 for a fixed time.

Printers that print output information as terminal devices for the devices listed above have printers that, when loading paper, either manually insert the paper directly to the device position, or rotate a knob that holds the platen to load the paper. There are those that are installed in a predetermined position, and those that have an automatic paper suction device that automatically guides the paper to the loading position by simply inserting the paper and inputting a loading command using a switch.
