[Detailed description of the invention] The invention relates to a thin high-frequency coil, that is, a chip-type inductor, which is used by being mounted on a circuit board.
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a thin chip-type inductor that has good mechanical strength and is convenient to transport.

Conventionally, this type of chip-type inductor is generally shown in FIG.
A well-known structure is that a drum core 5 with a coil 7 wound thereon is housed, and the lead 9 of the coil 7 is connected to the back end electrode 11 of the substrate 1. This structure is placed like a circuit board and formed into a circuit pattern. The electrode 11 is connected by soldering for use.

However, in the chip type inductor of this structure, since the drum core 5 is simply inserted into the hole 3 of the substrate 1, it is easy to move and easily come off from the hole 3, which not only makes it inconvenient to transport the chip type inductor, but also causes the lead 9 to break. This caused an accident.

In addition, in order to support the drum core 5 inserted into the board hole 3,
It was considered to cover the entire chip-type inductor with a resin exterior or a case, but the external size would have increased and the application of the exterior material would have been complicated. It was virtually impossible to cover it.

FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of the present invention, in which a bobbin 5 on which a coil 7 is wound is housed in a substantially hollow through hole 3 of a flat substrate 1, and the coil is connected to a terminal electrode provided on the substrate 1. In a chip type inductor in which the leads 9 of 7 are connected, the terminal electrodes are fitted into the edge of the substrate 1 and are cut out from a conductive plate 15 having a substantially U-shaped cross section, and the opposite ends of the U-shaped conductive plate 15 are connected to each other. This is a chip type inductor characterized in that a bobbin 5 is supported between the bobbin 17, and a drum core is used as the bobbin 5.

The third example shows another embodiment of the present invention, in which a tongue piece 17 is formed at the tip of the opposite side of the U-shaped conductive plate 15.
The flanges 5' and 5'' of the drum core 5 are held between the drum cores 7 and the opposite sides of the U-shaped conductive plate 15 and the tongues 17 are connected to the edge of the substrate 1 and the hole 3 (step 23) from the edge. This figure shows a chip-type inductor that is fitted into the recesses 19 and 21 formed over the entire length, and has a generally thin chip-type inductor whose opposing main surfaces have approximately the same dimensions as the thickness of the substrate 1.

The recess 19 is formed on the edge of the substrate 1 so as to face each other like a step, and has a structure in which the opposite side of the U-shaped conductive plate 15 is fitted.

The chip-type inductor of the present invention has a flat substrate 1.

The drum core 5 stored in the hole 3 of the substrate 1 can be elastically sandwiched between the opposing sides of the drum core 5.
The chip type inductor is difficult to move and does not come off from the hole 3, which not only makes it convenient to transport the chip type inductor, but also prevents the lead 9 of the coil from breaking.

Further, the terminal electrode is a U-shaped conductive plate, and the electrode can be formed by simply fitting it in, and can be used as a presser for the drum core 5 as it is.

Further, by providing tongues 17 on the U-shaped conductive plate 15 and sandwiching the drum core 5 between the tongues, the number of conductors placed near the drum core 5 is reduced, and a decrease in coil inductance and Q can be prevented. .

Note that if the substrate is made of a magnetic material such as ferrite and the step 23 is provided in the hole 3 and the upper flange 5' of the drum core 5 is placed as in the embodiment, a closed magnetic path will be formed between the upper flange 5' and the substrate 1. Therefore, even if a conductive plate is placed outside the drum core 5, the inductance and Q will hardly decrease.

Moreover, the coil glue 9 is connected to the tongue piece 17 of the F-shaped conductive plate.
If the tongue piece 1 is led out in the recess 21 into which it is fitted, the tongue piece 1
7 acts as a protective plate and is useful for preventing disconnection of the leads 9.

For the substrate 1 and bobbin 5 of the present invention, various materials can be used as long as they are insulating materials, and if a magnetic material such as ferrite is used, a closed magnetic circuit chip type inductor with high inductance and Q can be obtained.
