Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity of laying an unloading device on a bulk cargo ship to reduce the cost of the ship, by providing a stationary floatage adjusting tank in the lower section of the bulk cargo ship, and by providing a belt conveyor constituting an unloading device and communicated with an on-land installation. CONSTITUTION:One end of an underwater belt casing 5 is coupled to an on-land belt casing which is supported on a quay, and a belt conveyor 6 is disposed in this casing 5. The other ends of the above-mentioned casing 5 and the conveyor 6 are laid in an opening section of a floatage adjusting tank 11. Meanwhile, the above-mentioned tank 11 is formed with a receptacle 17 which is met with a hull bottom opening 8 in the hull 1 of a bulk cargo ship, and is provided with a pump 13 for discharging residual water between a hull bottom opening gate 9 and a main device opening gate 10, an air charge and discharge pipe 14 and a water charge and discharge pipe 15. With this arrangement, after the tank 11 is positioned in the lower section of the hull 1, bulk cargo within a hold 2 is unloaded onto the land by means of the conveyor 6.
