Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a sheet to be detected with an approach detector, to be used not only as a printing sheet but also as an electrophotographic transfer sheet satisfactorily with an electrophotographic copying machine, and to make it possible to form an original by all the means by interposing a high-resistance layer having a specific intrinsic resistivity between at least one surface of paper and a metallic layer. CONSTITUTION:A high resistance layer 3, practicably, a layer 3 having a resistivity of >=10<15>OMEGA.cm, on this layer 3 a metal contg. layer 4, such as thin metal film or vapor deposited metal layer, further on this layer 4 a high resistance layer, and a paper sheet are laminated successively on a paper sheet 2 as a support to achieve an intended sheet. A melt extrusible resin, such as PE, PP, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, or ionomer, and a hardening reaction type resin, such as polyester or polyurethane, can be used for the high-resistance layer 3.

It would be highly desirable to provide a practical means to prevent unauthorized copying of copyrighted documents or copyrighted records, and several methods have already been proposed. The present inventors also processed document sheets by vapor-depositing, coating, impregnating, pasting, etc. with metal, and also provided means for detecting and responding to the metal in document sheets in accordance with the scanning exposure process during copying. I proposed the device first.

The present invention is an electrophotographic transfer sheet that can be detected by a proximity detector, has sufficient sheet passability for an electrophotographic copying machine, and can be used not only as a printing paper (but also as an electrophotographic transfer sheet), and can be used to create manuscripts by any means. It provides sheets.

When a sheet having the structure described in the earlier application is passed through a copying machine such as the Xerox product, if the metal layer and the paper or plastic film sandwiching it are made thicker, the sheet becomes too stiff and jams occur in the copying machine. Something happened. Additionally, there were machines that caused transfer defects in high-humidity environments. Furthermore, if the metal layer and the paper or plastic film sandwiching it are made thinner to prevent jamming, the metal layer and the paper or plastic film will wrinkle during the manufacturing process, making it difficult to obtain a sheet with a satisfactory three-layer structure. Furthermore, even if the product could be manufactured successfully, the problem of poor transfer in a high-rise environment could not be resolved.
